| "Maybe we should just call them." Michelle suggested, finishing the last bite of her doughnut. She took her cell phone out of her shoulder bag, and punching in a few numbers. There was a pause while she let the phone ring, and then, "Dani? Yeah, it's Michelle. . . where are you?. . . oh, really?. . . uh-huh. . .are you planning on getting up anytime soon?. . . well, there's this little thing called TRL. . . okay, we'll see you guys down here in a few minutes, okay?. . .that's a long time. . . okay, then we're going shopping with out you. . .okay, bye." She hung up. "She says they over-slept, and they need a few hours to get ready. So I guess we're leaving without them." She announced. Allie rolled her eyes. "Cate was the one who wanted something new to wear in the first place." She pointed out. "Haven't they ever heard of an alarm clock?" AJ McLean shrugged. "Who cares? As long as they're ready for in time for the show." The two groups were sitting in the hotel resturaunt, all wearing sunglasses and baseball caps so that they wouldn't be recognized, and eating doughnuts. Howie Dourough nodded. "Okay, so should we go then? We've only got three hours before our limos get here." Allie nodded, but Kevin Richardson stood up and said, "actually, I'd rather not go. I think I'll stay here and work on this song that I'm writing, is that okay?" "Yeah, I think I'll stay, too." Nick announced. Brian raised his eyebrows at him. "How come, Nick? We're not interesting enough for you when Dani's not around." Nick groaned. "Will you stop it? For the billionth time, we're just friends!" "Hey guys!" Catelyn appeared at the entrance to the resturaunt. "Hey!" Allie and Michelle chorused. "I thought you said you needed an hour." Michelle reminded her. Catelyn shrugged. "Dani needs an hour. I think I'll come. I really need a new shirt." Everyone stood up, and walked to the door. When they reached the lobby, Kevin and Nick turned and went upstairs. "Aren't you two coming?" Catelyn asked. Nick shook his head. "We decided to stay here." Catelyn smiled and nodded, but secretly, she was getting angry again. Nick couldn't even go for a few hours with out Dani! There may not be anything going on between them in Dani's mind, but it didn't take a mastermind to figure out that Nick had feelings for Dani. She sighed. What was wrong with her? Why didn't Nick notice her? What did Dani have that she didn't? "You coming, Caty?" Brian called. The rest of the group had already started towards the door. Catelyn sighed. She guessed that there wasn't really anything she could to to change Nick's mind, so she nodded, and walked over to Brian. |
| Nick was sitting on Dani's bed, watching a basketball game when she stepped out of the shower. "Damn it, Nick!" Her arms crossed over her chest. "I'm only wearing a towel." He didn't even glance away from the TV. "I've seen you in less than that, Dan. And I'm not looking anyway." Dani sighed loudly, and stomped over to her suitcase. She grabbed a bra and panties, and was just pulling on a pair of jeans when Nick turned off the TV. "So, what do you wanna do today?" He asked. "NICK!" Dani threw a shirt over her head, and glared at him. "Do you have any decency?" She snapped. "Jesus. Calm down." Nick rolled his eyes at her. "Since when did you turn into such a drama queen?" Dani ignored his comment, and walked over to her mirror. "Why didn't you go with everyone else?" She asked, while she braided a few sprigs of purple flowers into her hair. "Because I wanted to stay here with you!" He announced, grinnig at her like a proud little boy. Dani coudln't help but laugh. So much for being cold to him for hurting Catelyn. He hadn't really meant to, anyway. Nick stood up, and walked over to her. He took a hair brush off the table, and ran it through her hair. She smiled at him in the mirror. "So are we doing anything?" He asked again. Dani thought for a second. "There's an arcade a few blocks away." She suggest. "We could go there. I mean, if you don't mind playing video games for a while. . ." "Oh, yeah." Nick said sarcastically. "I guess I could sacrifice a few hours for video games. Even though I hate them and everything. . ." "Yeah, everyone knows how much you hate video games." Dani agreed. Nick grinned at her in the mirror again, and went on brushing her hair. |
