THE SCOOP ON GLORY DAYS: Welcome to Glory, the Island of Happiness. Well, that's what the billboard says, anyway. The seemingly idyllic small island town in the Pacific Northwest is a breeding ground for eerie events, bizarre happenings and peculiar inhabitants where truth is often stranger than fiction, and sometimes even deadly. Infused with his trademark pop culture humor, Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson's Creek) brings a scary murder mystery to the small screen each week with this creepy, picture-perfect hamlet.

Wunderkind novelist Mike Dolan (Eddie Cahill, Friends, Felicity) returns to his hometown after "loosely" depicting the denizens of Glory in a best-selling murder mystery about the bizarre events surrounding his own father's supposedly accidental death. With the picturesque, yet freaky, town of Glory as the backdrop for his story, Mike used his family and friends as fictional fodder and an exorcism for his personal demons. With a flair for the dramatic, no one was spared from full disclosure and exaggeration of the truth normally kept behind closed doors.

Now, at 25 and four years after his wunderkind success, Mike hasn't written a word, and doesn't exactly get a hero's welcome upon his return home. He's looking for a new lease on life... a chance to do something right, and maybe once and for all solve the mystery of his father's death. As he mends proverbial fences and plays amateur sleuth to unravel the mysteries lurking beneath the placid exterior of Glory Island, he may get his wish, and may even find some new inspiration.

Mike's boyhood friend, Rudy Dunlop (Jay R. Ferguson, Evening Shade, The In Crowd), whom he pegged in his book as a gay village idiot, is now the sheriff of Glory Island. Still haunted by Mike's notorious characterization, Rudy isn't exactly ready to jump right back into being "best buds" with Mike just cause he's returned home. Better yet, since Mike is the law in these parts, the roles have reversed, with Mike now playing the part of sidekick as he trails Rudy in search of answers to the many bizarre murders in Glory.

The third side to this crime-solving trio is Ellie Sparks (Poppy Montgomery, Blonde, Relativity), a creature of strange and morbid appeal who is a forensic pathologist and the town's coroner. Slightly removed from her own emotions, she has an uncanny ability to dissect the intentions of those around her. Since Ellie didn't grow up in Glory, and hasn't had her name dragged through the mud in Mike's book, she's one of the few friendly faces he encounters.

Reconnecting with family is even more difficult for Mike, yet a key first step towards redemption. His eccentric mother, Mitzi (Frances Fisher, Titanic), was unflatteringly painted in his book as imbalanced and bipolar, which may be only a slight exaggeration. His older sister, Sara (Amy Stewart, E.R.), inherited the local newspaper after their father's death and reluctantly gives Mike a job as a reporter. She's a tough workaholic competing with the nearby larger Seattle paper, and some might say Mike's "fictional" description of Sara as "icy cold" isn't that far off target.

Mike's one ally in this splintered family is his younger sister, Sam (newcomer Emily VanCamp). A funky and deliberately different 16-year-old, Sam strives for some edge and spice in the otherwise quaint but quirky town. Her best friend is the cute and clever Zane Walker (newcomer Ben Crowley), who has known Sam since birth and hopes their eternal flirtation will spark into romance.

Zane's mother, Hazel (Theresa Russell, The Believer, Black Widow), owner of the town's diner and aging bombshell, had the dubious honor of being the murderer in Mike's book. While it may just be a coincidence, everyone in the town knows that her guilt in the novel might just be related to her scandalous real-life affair with Mike's dad.

The series was created by Kevin Williamson, who serves as executive producer. Co-executive producer Randy Zisk (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) directed the premiere episode. The series is produced by Dimension Television in association with Outerbanks Entertainment.

THE SCOOP ON GLORY DAYS' CAST:

Eddie Cahill is Mike Dolan on Glory Days
With memorable appearances on Friends, Felicity and Sex and the City, Eddie Cahill catapulted to stardom in 2001. Now, he stars on the new drama Glory Days from Kevin Williamson as wunderkind novelist Mike Dolan, who returns to his hometown after "loosely" depicting the denizens of Glory in a best-selling murder mystery about the bizarre events surrounding his father's supposedly accidental death.

The New York native got his feet wet performing in high school theater productions before beginning formal acting study at New York University. His first big break was landing a role in the play Gramercy Park Is Closed to the Public, which was part of Vassar College's annual New York Stage and Film event. He also appeared in the off-Broadway play The Altruists, directed by David Warren and written by Nicky Silver.

One week after the closing of The Altruists, Cahill shot a titillating episode of Sex and the City, guest-starring as Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) much younger and surprisingly bisexual boyfriend. Soon after, he booked a coveted role on Friends, appearing in seven episodes as Tag, Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) irresistible assistant at Ralph Lauren with whom she began a secret office romance. Also during the fall of 2001, Cahill shocked fans of Felicity appearing in three episodes as James, a gun-toting addict.

Still maintaining a residence in New York City, Cahill is currently shooting Glory Days in Vancouver. During his free time, he plays hockey and plays around on the guitar.

Ben Crowley is Zane Walker on Glory Days
A new face to television, Ben Crowley makes his debut on the new drama Glory Days as the charismatic teenager Zane Walker.

Born in the tiny town of Mancus in southwestern Colorado, Crowley and his family moved around a lot growing up, eventually settling in Columbia, Missouri while he was in high school. During that time, he found his way to the stage starring in his school's musical and hasn't looked back since.

After graduating high school, Crowley chased his dream to Los Angeles with everything he owned in the back of a borrowed pick-up truck and a resume of high school and community theater. A mass head shot mailing landed an agent and the auditioning began. Early roles included guest-starring gigs on MTV's Undressed and Showtime's Resurrection Blvd.

Crowley came to the attention of The WB's casting department in 2001 and he landed a starring role in the drama pilot Murphy's Dozen. Although the show wasn't picked up, he was tapped to play the newly added role of Zane in Glory Days. He also appeared in The WB comedy Maybe It's Me.

On the big screen, he has appeared in numerous independent films. Still an avid fan of performing in front of a live audience, Crowley also performs with the Los Angeles theatre troupe Blue Sphere Alliance.

When he's not working, Crowley enjoys a multitude of creative pursuits, including writing, painting, singing and playing the guitar. Also an avid sportsman, he enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, rollerblading and playing hockey.

Poppy Montgomery is Ellie Sparks on Glory Days
Poppy Montgomery earned rave reviews last year when she starred as Marilyn Monroe in the miniseries Blonde, based on Joyce Carol Oates' novel about the screen legend. Montgomery now stars on the new drama Glory Days as Ellie Sparks, a mysteriously appealing woman who is a forensic pathologist and the town coroner. Slightly removed from her own emotions, Ellie has the uncanny ability to dissect the intentions of those around her.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Montgomery came to Los Angeles at the age of 18 with a strong desire to act. Her early roles were guest-starring parts on such shows as NYPD Blue and Party of Five. A year later, she was cast as Jennifer Lukens in Relativity from Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz and later starred in the Barry Levinson cop series The Beat.

Montgomery's breakout role came last spring when she was tapped to star as Marilyn Monroe, a part she was fated to play. Montgomery developed a fascination with Marilyn Monroe during childhood and has seen all of Monroe's movies and read her biography at age 12. When the opportunity to explore the life of America's classic sex symbol was presented to her, Montgomery was more than up to the challenge.

On the big screen, Montgomery has appeared in such films as Garry Marshall's The Other Sister with Diane Keaton and Juliette Lewis, and Life with Eddie Murphy.

Montgomery currently resides in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoys doing yoga, snowboarding, horseback riding and not cooking.

Jay Ferguson is Rudy Dunlop on Glory Days
Jay Ferguson has been acting in film and on television for more than a decade, and now stars in the new drama Glory Days as Rudy Dunlop, boyish sheriff of murder-plagued Glory Island.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Ferguson moved to Los Angeles at age 6 with his mother, who wanted to pursue a career in acting. He followed in her footsteps and landed his first professional gig at age 14 in The Outsiders television series.

Ferguson made his feature film debut in 1995 playing a rapist in John Singleton's racial drama Higher Learning. Additional big-screen credits include the suspense drama Blue Ridge Fall and the upcoming The Year That Trembled, a 1970 coming-of-age story set in the shadow of Kent State that focuses on a group of young characters facing the Vietnam War draft lottery.

When not working, Ferguson enjoys walking his dog on the beach and is an avid snowboarder. He divides his time between his home in Los Angeles and Vancouver, where Glory Days shoots.

Emily VanCamp is Sam Dolan on Glory Days
Fifteen-year-old Emily VanCamp makes her series starring debut on the new drama Glory Days as Sam Dolan, a funky and deliberately different teenager who strives for some edge and spice in the otherwise quaint but quirky town of Glory Island.

Born in Port Perry, Ontario, VanCamp has been performing since the age of 3 as a dancer and at 12 was accepted into the prestigious L'Ecole Superieure de Danse de Quebec, the official training program of Les Grands Ballet Canadiens. She moved to Montreal for the intensive training program.

When her older sister, Katie, also a dancer, was cast in a film as a ballerina, Emily fell in love with acting while visiting the set. Since then, Emily has amassed both television and feature film credits.

In the television miniseries Jackie O: A Life Story, she portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis at the age of 13. Frances Fisher, who plays VanCamp's mother in Glory Days, played her mother in the project. Most recently, Emily starred in last year's Sundance Film Festival hit Lost & Delirious and will be seen in the upcoming feature film No Good Deed opposite Samuel L. Jackson.

When not on the Vancouver set of Glory Days, Emily continues her dance training, including ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop.

Frances Fisher is Mitzi Dolan on Glory Days
An accomplished actress, Frances Fisher is best known for her unforgettable roles in Academy Award-winning films including Titanic and Unforgiven. In Glory Days, Fisher stars as as Mike's (Eddie Cahill) eccentric mother, Mitzi Dolan, who he unflatteringly portrayed in his book as imbalanced and bipolar, perhaps not such an exaggeration. Born in Milford-on-Sea, England, Fisher lived in Colombia, Canada, France, Brazil, Turkey, Italy and various U.S. cities by the time she graduated from high school in Orange, Texas. She cut her teeth with Tennessee Williams and Robert Bolt plays in Orange Community Theatre, and later apprenticed at the Barter Theatre in Virginia before moving to New York, where she starred in over 30 stage productions both regionally and off-Broadway. During this time, she studied with Stella Adler, and is one of the last three students selected by Lee Strasberg to become a member of the Actors' Studio.

Fisher became a household name starring opposite Clint Eastwood in the Academy Award-winning Unforgiven. Her memorable work in James Cameron's Titanic garnered her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of Best Ensemble Cast, while the film received 11 Academy Awards. She also co-starred with Robert Duvall and Aidan Quinn in The Stars Fell on Henrietta, among other credits.

For television, Fisher starred in Jackie O: A Life Story as Janet Bouvier, The Audrey Hepburn Story as Hepburn's mother with Jennifer Love Hewitt, and in Lucy & Desi: Before the Laughter as Lucille Ball. She had a recurring romantic role opposite Ted Danson on Becker and also made recurring appearances on Titus.

Fisher's off-Broadway and regional stage performances include Fool For Love, Desire Under the Elms, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Orpheus Descending and A Midsummer Night's Dream. She earned a DramaLogue Award for Best Ensemble Cast in the world premiere of Caryl Churchill's Three More Sleepless Nights.

Fisher currently divides her time between her home in Los Angeles and Vancouver, where Glory Days shoots.

Amy Stewart is Sara Dolan on Glory Days
Fresh from memorable guest appearances on ER and The Practice, Amy Stewart makes her series starring debut as workaholic newspaper mogul Sara in the new drama Glory Days.

Born and raised in Palo Alto, Calif., Stewart was drawn to performing as a toddler and began performing in community theater by age 8. During junior high, with a resume of 30 plays to her credit, she landed a San Francisco-based agent. To her parents' surprise, she was soon appearing in local commercials.

Throughout high school, Stewart continued to perform in local theater productions while spending summers in Los Angeles learning the ropes of a professional acting career. After graduating high school, she attended UC San Diego, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology. Then, she set her sights back on Hollywood.

Soon, she landed a dramatic guest-starring role on ER, directed by Anthony Edwards, in which she appeared in two episodes as the sister of a girl who had been murdered. Following that role, she guest-starred in an emotionally charged episode of The Practice as a rape victim.

In contrast to her dramatic television work, Stewart recently wrapped a starring role in the independent romantic comedy film Monkey Love.

When not working, Stewart enjoys bicycling, rooting for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, and spending time raising her Australian Shepherd puppy, Delilah.

Theresa Russell is Hazel Walker on Glory Days
Screen siren Theresa Russell made her acting debut at age 19 in the film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Last Tycoon, directed by the late, great Elia Kazan and starring screen legends Robert Mitchum, Robert DeNiro and Jack Nicholson. Now, she stars in the new Kevin Williamson drama Glory Days as Hazel Walker, Glory Island's aging bombshell and owner of the small town's diner.

Discovered by a photographer when she was just 12 years old, Russell began modeling and entered the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Her many film credits include starring opposite Dustin Hoffman in Straight Time and portraying a seductive serial killer in Bob Rafelson's Black Widow.

It was her powerful, sexually frank work as a woman involved with a psychiatrist in the provocative Bad Timing: A Sensual Obsession with Harvey Keitel and Art Garfunkel that established her as a major actress, unafraid to take chances with risky material. The film was also her first with British director Nicolas Roeg; the two fell in love and later married. She has gone on to act in six more of his films, including Insignificance along with Gary Busey and Tony Curtis.

More recently, Russell was featured in Wild Things with Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell and Denise Richards; Lucky Town opposite Kirsten Dunst and James Caan; and The Believer, the story about a young Jewish man struggling to come to terms with Judaism.

On television, Russell appeared as Maureen Dean in the miniseries Blind Ambition.

Russell is a native of Los Angeles, Calif. When not working, Russell enjoys playing tennis and cooking for her family.
