2. slaves should strive to be: honorable, loyal, honest, kind, and loving. slaves need to learn about: serves, drinks, food, silks, collars, dance, massage, chains and alcoves to name a few.
3. Per the scrolls by John Norman slaves speak first person unless being punished. slaves speaking third person all the time is an "ircism" Check in the room to see what the Owners' policy. In #SilentRiders_Home, slaves speak first person but are taught third person due to being on irc.
4. a slaves nick begins with a lower case letter.. Master and Mistress nicks begin with a capital letters.
5. the { } OR [ ] after a slaves nick is the slaves collar.. the initials are of the Master, Mistress, or tavern that owns the slave.
6. slaves do not use caps.. unless used in the words Master/Mistress, their nick, or ( His/Her... He/She) always always be respectful of Masters and Mistresses.
7. it is wise to prostrate and beg to enter if unsure of channel policy. usually it is found in the channel topic. slaves say "Greetings Master/Mistress (nick) and "greetings brother/sisters"
8. Most Gorean channels allow a slave to be in ONLY one channel at a time.
9. ALWAYS ask permission to leave a channel or be afk.
10. Gorean slaves are beautiful. slaves lower eyes to show respect - not the whole head -unless in a serve of a drink or punishment.
11. kneel... slaves never sit (unless it is upon the lap of a Master/Mistress)
12. true Gorean slaves DO NOT curtsy.
13. never message a Master, Mistress or slave without asking in channel first due to the fact its respect towards the Free and that some slaves are not allowed to whisper.
14. NEVER correct another slave in the open channel. it is not a slaves place to correct a FP's property. the slave may be acting under the orders of their Owner. If it bothers you that much seek out the first girl of the Home, the slaves' Owner, or an Op in the Home.
15.some channels consider pinging a FP touching that Master or Mistress without permission and that is not acceptable. slaves may ping other slaves.
16. a white silks slave does not put a drink to her slave heat, does not kneel in nadu, lap or alcove for anyone but her Master.
17. do not try to serve until you know how. unless a Master/Mistress requests and then it is wise to tell Them are not yet trained. He/She will decide if They wishes the slave serve or not.
18. don't be a social butterfly. if you are serving a Master/Mistress, be attentive to Him/Her and give Them your "full" attention until He/She has dismissed you. This means not to greet or private message anyone until through with the serve and having been released back to the slave furs by Them. The serve is not finished until released.
19. slaves NEVER touch money. they may retrieve a pouch to hold open for a Master/Mistress to deposit the coins into for their Master/Mistress - then the pouch is returned to the owner, the owners seat, or perhaps hung upon a nail on the severy door. sometimes coins are placed on the tongue of a slave.
20. slaves do not own possessions. everything a collared slave has is their Owners not yours. . if given something take it to your Owner and ask if you can keep it.
22. slaves in the books handled weapons in their daily chores. In most irc rooms slaves do not handle weapons. However, in #SilentRiders_Home, slaves use objects that could be constured as weaspons in their daily chores. However, showing intentions of harming a FP or another slave could result in death.
23. if unsure of something, msg a more experienced slave for advice or an op with permission.
24. if you are told to do something that breaks your restrictions, go to an Ops or the first girl of the channel you are in. If none are available, close the window and/or turn off your computer.
25.We can not stress enough to new Goreans the importance of asking questions as they are attempting to learn the Gorean customs. This is a tricky world and it will take time to understand it.
NOTE:
** please never be afraid to come forward and tell someone. if "anyone" is forcing you to break restrictions, or haressing you in any way.
** We believe strongly that new slaves should be in white silks and learn the customs and rules before doing anything private with a Master. We have seen many new slaves take collars, talk in private with Masters, do things they have regretted later and have said "they did not know" - please take your time and learn first.
** collars are not toys, necklaces, or something to use to justify fooling around. they are committments that bind hearts and souls of two people together and the decision to accept/give a collar should never be taken lightly.
