"My Prayer"
Teardrops fall down on my pillow
As I think of you,
The laughs we shared, the fun we had
Were more than just a few.
I love you like I have no other
but, can you comprehend,
These feelings I have are so very true
And not just a game of pretend.
I'm not sure of when it started
But, one day, I suddenly knew,
That you were more than just a friend
'cause I realized just how much I loved you.
But, the time came much too late
for, you were already gone.
I wish I had known my feelings sooner
then I wouldn't be left here all alone.
If I could just find you
in this big world that I know,
I'd tell you just how much you mean to me
and I'd never let you go.
So, as I go through each day
I never give up believing,
That someday we will meet again
And there will be no more deceiving.
You'll know I love you
'cause I'll tell you everyday,
These are the things I say to God
each night as I pray.
If I ever needed you in my life
it would be today,
I miss your presence, and your love
but, most of all, I miss you when you are away....
