"Eternal Love"
Many years ago a boy and girl met
It was love at first sight,
It was her he wanted to get
And for her he was Mr. Right.
After they married their love for each other grew much much deeper,
And there was nothing in this world he wouldn't do to keep her.
And the one thing she wanted most in life
She already had, because she was his wife.
A couple of years later, even after the doctor had warned,
She was with child and the man was torn.
He worried for her safety day and night.
Hoping, praying, she'd be alright.
The time came early with not much warning
For the baby would be born that very morning.
He stayed by her side and felt her pain and fear,
And when the baby was born he knew the Angels were near.
The baby was born healthy and strong,
But for his wife, everything went wrong.
Finally, the doctor said there was nothing more that he could do,
And the man felt that his wife would be gone before the day was through.
He prayed and cried for the whole agonizing day,
Then watched the angels , slowly take his love away.
Slowly the years passed and the man grew old,
But not one day passed that his wife wasn't told.
Just how terribly she was missed,
And in his dreams at night it was still her he kissed.
Then one day early in the fall,
The Angels came and made another call.
As the man was lifted toward Heavens door,
There stood his wife more beautiful then before.
The tears that filled the old mans eyes,
Were the happiest tears that you could ever realize.
For now he knew that nothing could ever part,
Him and this lady that had forever held his heart.
