Why do you care, it's not as if she's yours
She's just in the way,
Messing up your day
But you belong to me,
And everytime I wake
I pray that God will keep you
Always warm and safe
Hush little baby
Mummy's here
To hold you tight
And dry your tears

The first time I held you
In my arms I cried
Because I knew I no longer could
Keep you here inside
I knew you'd never call me mum
I knew I'd never see the sun
Because the darkness fell that night
Mum and Dad started to fight
'You're so lucky', 'isn't she sweet'
Your tiny hands and tiny feet
Your name is all I could give
When my arms were here to hold you with
