The Prayer Of A Witch

"Okay, go; go; go!" Piper yelled and ran after Phoebe and Prue, leaving behind the warlock that she froze in mid air. The adrenalin was pumping up in side of them, just as always. The rush and fear compiled Phoebe, but that's what Phoebe loved. That was exactly what she loved.
"Since when do warlocks fall for such second grade tricks?" Prue asked as they stood in the corner of an alley.
"Shh! It is the best we could come up with on a second of notice!" Phoebe said quietly, keeping her eyes fixed on the street.
"Hey, at least I managed to freeze him" Piper remarked enthusiastically.
"Yeah, well, getting used to it takes time" Prue said as suddenly, she was thrown out into the middle of the street.
"Prue!" Phoebe yelled and ran towards her, "Piper, do something!" she called, helping Prue stand up when she felt thoughts running through her head. A premonition was quickly forming in her mind. She opened her eyes and looked at two brake lights that blinded her.
The car was driving quickly towards them.
Phoebe's heart raced quickly, she glanced at the upcoming car and without any thought at all, pushed Prue out of the way.
"Phoebe!" Prue yelled and stood up, running towards her as the driver drove away as fast as he could, still in shock.
Piper froze as the warlock drew closer and closer to her, moving in incredible speed.
"I'm okay, I'm okay" Phoebe said and grabbed a hold of Prue's hand, which she had reached out to her.
"Thanks" Prue said and looked at Phoebe.
"A are you guys okay?" Piper asked, without changing any facial expressions of any kind.
"Yeah, fine" Phoebe said. "Piper!" she yelled as her eyes turned to Piper.
Prue ran towards her quickly and threw the warlock backwards into the alley, just as he was about to attack Piper.
"What happened to you?" Phoebe asked, "Prue, wait!"
Prue stormed into the alley angrily, walking towards the warlock.
"
You almost got my sister killed, you ass!" she yelled and lifted her hand, combining her anger with her powers. A very, very powerful aggregate.
"Ooh," Prue smiled, "You're gonna get it now" she said as Piper and Phoebe ran towards her.
Piper turned to Prue, then looked at the warlock and tried to freeze him.
"Hey, you did it!" Phoebe smiled.
"Yeah I did, didn't I?" Piper said and looked at Prue.

"What happened to you?" Prue asked her, as they walked away towards the street.
A single streetlight stood in front of them; shading dispread light on its surroundings.
"I don't know, instead of freezing him, I froze myself" Piper said and looked at Prue.
"That's new." Phoebe said and looked at her sisters.
"Was I the only one who noticed how weird it is that we have already vanquished a Demon and a warlock, all on the same night?" Piper asked after several minutes.
"Yeah, well it's partially out fault, we scribed for it" Prue answered and crossed the street, followed by her sisters.
"And," Piper added, catching up to her sisters, "they both went down pretty easily".
"Well, maybe they're just not night creatures, like us" Phoebe said and looked at Prue, who smiled.
          ~~~~~        ~~~~~~        ~~~        ~~~~~~        ~~~         ~~~~~
"Phoebe, watch out!" Prue yelled and ran towards her, pushing her out of the way, and being hit herself.
Phoebe glanced at Prue, and jumped on him, kicking him down to the floor.
Prue opened her eyes, and looked at Phoebe fighting the Demon, without much luck.
"Piper, help!" Phoebe yelled, and stood up.
The Demon mumbled something and zeroed in on Prue.
"Oh, no you don't!" Phoebe yelled and levitated up, kicking his face, trying to distract him from Prue.
"Piper, help!!!" she yelled.
Piper ran into the kitchen as fast as she could, and tried to freeze the Demon.
Prue looked at them blurrily. She tried to get up, but couldn't.
"Are you okay?" Piper asked and looked at Phoebe.
"You know, your new power really is starting to grow on me," Phoebe said.
"Ha, well, I think that makes two of us" Piper said and looked around the living room, "Prue!"
They hurried towards her and helped her stand up, "are you alright?" Piper asked and looked at Prue.
"Yeah, I'll be fine" Prue said, blinking on and on.
"Hey, thanks. You saved my life" Phoebe smiled.
"I will avoid the clich? and not say 'any time'." Prue said and closed her eyes.
Her vision was still blurry.
"Are you sure youre okay?" Piper asked.
"Yeah, I'm not sure the book shelves over there are though".
"What happened here?"
Cole looked at the sisters, as they all turned to him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Prue asked.
"Well, obviously committing a friendly visit, but it looks like you have already had company" Cole said and paced towards them.
"Cole, spare us. Just get out of here," Prue said looked at his dazed image as he approached her.
"Not so fast" Phoebe said and stood up, letting go of Prue's hand.
Cole looked at her, hiding his smile.
"We were attacked three times tonight. What's going on?" she asked.
"How would I know?" he asked.
"Well, I dont know let me think" Phoebe said and looked at him, "hmm you're one of them".
"Phoebe, dont. He could be the next" Piper said and looked at Phoebe as she approached Cole with cautious.
"Whoa, don't gang up on the messenger, will ya?"
"The messenger?" Phoebe asked.
"It's just a figure of speech, Phoebe" Cole said and looked at her, "who attacked you?" he asked.
"This could be a trick," Piper said quietly.
"Piper, he could be the one to help us" Phoebe turned to Piper.
"He could also be the one to kill us" Piper replied.
"It wouldn't be the first time" Prue said.
"Excuse me; he is actually standing right here! Man, the animosity in this room" Cole looked at Phoebe.
Phoebe exchanged looks with her sisters, and then turned to Cole, "First, there was a Demon Partially black and white, then there was a warlock and now, just a few minutes ago, another Demon. I mean what is up with them. Is it killing the sisters' day? The more the merrier!" Phoebe said cynically.
"Well, since you brought it up, for all evil, every day is killing you day" Cole said.
"Even for you, Cole?" Prue asked and looked at him; her vision of him was still unclear.
"I did not say that".
"Yeah"
"So, can you tell us what's going on?" Phoebe asked.
"I don't know. It's risky enough as it is for me to shimmer up here".
"Could you please check?" Piper asked.
"Check? If I go back there I'm a dead man; Demon guy" he mumbled.
"At least he's one with his demonical side," Prue said quietly to Piper, who smiled at her.
Phoebe looked at them, and said, "Just go Cole, will you? We have had a really rough night".
"I want to talk to you, Phoebe" Cole looked at Piper and Prue, "alone".
"Yeah well, that's too bad, cause I dont" Phoebe said and looked at Prue.
"I think I'll call it a night." Prue said and stood up. She walked pass Cole slowly, looking at him with dizziness.
"I'll help you get there" Piper said rapidly and ran towards Prue, stabilizing her on her feet.
"Cole, just leave. Please" Phoebe said and walked towards the books that were scattered on the floor. She slowly picked them up, one by one.
"Phoebe. I really think we should talk".
"There's nothing left to say" Phoebe said and walked towards the coffee table, avoiding Cole's eyes.
"I think there is" he said; and grasped her by the arm.
Phoebe lifted her head and looked at him.
"I love you, Phoebe" he said. He looked sincere.
She couldn't fall for him again. She couldn't do it to herself, after all he had done.
"Phoebe, you have to believe me, I did not mean to hurt you, or your sisters. You have to believe me!"
"Well, I dont Cole. I can't".
"Phoebe! Dammit. I can't live without you. I will do anything for you. I've changed".
"Ho I've heard that story way too many times" Phoebe said and loosened her arm from his grip.
"Can you say that you don't want me?" he asked.
"Yes. I do not want murderers" she said firmly and walked away from him.
"Phoebe, wait!"
"No. Cole. You wait" Phoebe turned to him angrily, "I have had enough heartbreak over you.
This was the last time".
She faced him, she could hear his heart pounding, but wanted to ignore it. To ignore everything. The attraction was there but for all the wrong reasons.
Cole looked at her, and then shimmered away.
Phoebe took a deep breath, and dried the tears that stood in her eyes.
"Good morning" Prue said and walked into the kitchen.
"Hey. How are your eyes?" Piper asked and handed Prue a cup of coffee.
"Oh, thank you. Better" she said and sat down.
"Good. This is a good morning, no Demons yet" Piper said and smiled.
"That's probably the last thing I need right now" Prue said and looked at her watch, "oh I'm gonna be late!"
"Where are you going?" Piper asked, following Prue with her eyes, as she put the cup of coffee down and walked out of the kitchen.
"I have a job interview. It sounds pretty good" Prue's voice slowly faded as she picked her jacket up of off the coat hanger.
Piper walked towards her, out into the parlor.
"Good luck" she said to Prue, as she stood on the threshold.
"Thank you, honey" Prue turned to her and smiled.
"I'll see you later".
"Goodbye" Prue called out, walking down the stairs, towards her car.
Piper looked at her enter the car and closed the front door.
"Hey" Phoebe said, while walking down the stairs, and towards Piper.
Piper turned to her, "hi".
"Where's Prue?" Phoebe asked.
"She has a job interview. You've just missed her".
            ~~       ~~~      ~~         ~~~       ~~       ~~~       ~~       ~~~
"I'm coming!" Piper called out and hurried towards the front door.
"Good day. Miss Halliwell?"
"Yes?" Piper asked, and scanned the officer who stood in front of her.
His eyes were gloomy, and filled with sorrow.
Phoebe walked out of the living room by passing the wall that separated it with the parlor. Piper's image slowly started unfolding to her.
Piper leaned her head back on the wall, and tears ran down her eyes.
"Piper?" Phoebe asked and approached her, "Piper, what's wrong?"
"Miss Halliwell?" asked the officer.
Phoebe turned to him in shock. She could guess it by Piper's condition.
"I'm afraid there has been an accident".
"What accident?" Phoebe asked, and looked at Piper.
"I'm sorry, but your sister, Prue, died earlier today".
Piper's heart nearly stopped as she heard those words; again.
Phoebe's head spun, her eyes turned black for several seconds.
"There has to be some kind of a mistake" she said and looked at the officer.
"I'm afraid not. However, we do need your final confirmation of the body," he said, ashamed of acting coolly.
"No" Piper whispered, tears running down her eyes.
"Piper, let's go" Phoebe said; hugging Piper and picking up her jacket on the way.
            ~~       ~~~      ~~         ~~~       ~~       ~~~       ~~       ~~~
They slowly walked into the morgue, hand in hand.
Their heart beat as one as they approached the table.
Piper put her hand on her mouth in shock as the mortician lifted the cloth off Prue's body.
"Oh god" Phoebe whispered, crying.
"No!" Piper cried and kneeled beside Prue's body, touching Prue's cold, pale face.
Phoebe's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Prue. She could not believe it.
"I'm sorry" the mortician said quietly and looked at them.
"Prue, honey" Piper looked at Prue and kissed her forehead, shaking.
It was not real; it couldn't have been.
Piper tried to convince herself, but without any luck as reality stroke her when she faced Prue's body.
                                                    ~~~
"I'm afraid we will have to ask you to leave, you have been here for a while" the mortician said and looked at Phoebe.
Piper looked at her angrily, "I am not leaving her here!" she said, her voice was shaky.
Phoebe took a deep breath, and put her hand on Piper's shoulder. "Piper, honey, let's go".
"No. Phoebe! Dammit!" Piper cried. Her tears fell on Prue's face.
Prue's body was covered in bruises and scratches.
"Honey"
Piper refused to move.
"Please, miss, I really have to ask you to leave" the mortician repeated and looked at Piper.
Piper stood up, very slowly. She caressed Prue's face and turned to Phoebe.
"Everything will be okay, Prue. I promise" Phoebe whispered and turned away.
          ~~       ~~~      ~~         ~~~       ~~       ~~~       ~~       ~~~
"Come on, Phoebe. Get the candles," Piper ordered and put the white tablecloth on the table.
She placed The Book  down on the floor beside her and looked at Phoebe, holding a large ritual knife in her hand.
Phoebe looked at her while putting five candles on the table; forming a circle.
"Okay" Piper said and dried her tears.
"A part of me, my blood, I call you to come to me.
A part of me, my blood, come to us and be"
Piper took the knife and made a small cut on her wrist, then handed the knife to Phoebe.
They kept reciting it repeatedly but nothing happened.
"Dammit!" Piper yelled, "There has to be something else. We probably wrote the spell all wrong. We have to try again" she said and took a piece of paper.
"A part of me you are. From my blood you will be.
A part of me to symbol life. Come back to me".

"Phoebe, why isnt it working?" Piper asked angrily and stood up.
"I don't I don't know" Phoebe looked at her.
"Prue cant be dead. Don't you see Phoebe? It is not real. It's an elusion. No! A test. It's gotta be a test!"
Phoebe stood up and approached Piper slowly.
"They can't take her away from us, they can't!" Piper said, walking around in circles.
She didn't know what to do, how to act next, The life as she knew it were no more.
"How can it be that we can't save her with magic? I mean, she is too powerful to to" Piper fell down into Phoebe's arms, crying.
"Prue" she cried.
"I know, honey. I know" Phoebe whispered crying. She hugged Piper with all her strength.
       ~~       ~~~      ~~         ~~~       ~~       ~~~       ~~       ~~~
Phoebe got into her car, thinking about everything, about Prue.
She had to get away.
As she drove up to the Mausoleum, on the rainy road, the dark skies formed together, creating a thicker layer. The haze in front of her fogged the windshield.

Cole turned around to the sound of footsteps.
He waited silently, as Phoebe entered the Mausoleum.
She looked around, in hope of seeing Cole.
He was not there.
Phoebe took a deep breath and asked quietly, "Cole?"
Cole closed his eyes to the sound of her voice. He rose slowly from behind the tomb and turned to her.
They stood face to face for several minutes without saying a word.
Tears formed behind Phoebe's eyes, regardless of her effort in hiding them.
"Phoebe, what?" he asked and walked to her slowly.
Phoebe turned away, and then looked back at him.
"Pr Prue" she mumbled.
"What about Prue?" he asked calmly.
"She's" Phoebe took a deep breath, "she's dead".
Cole's eyes dilated in terror.
"What? How?"
"Accident" she said quietly, "I'm surprised it isn't prime time news down there".
"I haven't been
down there for a while now. I'm so sorry Phoebe" Cole said and looked at her.
"Could you please just hold me?" Phoebe asked in misery.
Cole walked towards her and hugged her, with slight hesitation.
"Piper has been trying to we have been trying for the past days. But, nothing. I don't I don't know what to do. Cole, I have to keep myself strong, because it's either this or total breakdown" Phoebe said and looked at him.
Cole caressed her face and hugged her.
       ~~       ~~~      ~~         ~~~       ~~       ~~~       ~~       ~~~
"Piper?" Phoebe asked as she walked into the house, together with Cole.
No answer.
Phoebe looked at Cole, and headed to the staircase.
"Piper?"
Piper closed her eyes. She didn't want to hear it; whatever it was.
Phoebe walked into Piper's room, but she wasn't there.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of shuttered glass coming from Prue's bedroom.
"Piper?" Phoebe asked and opened the door.
Piper sat in the corner of the room, holding Prue's black leather jacket tight.
Next to her lay a small vase, shattered to pieces.
"Sweetie? Are you alright?" Phoebe walked towards Piper and bent down next to her.
Piper didn't answer. She seemed to be sunken in her own world.
"This isn't easy for me too, you know?" Phoebe said and put her hands on Piper's knees. She kissed her on the cheek gently, trying to comfort her.
"I want to be alone" Piper said quietly and looked away from Phoebe.
Suddenly, she noticed Cole standing on the threshold.
"What the hell is he doing here, Phoebe!?" Piper stormed.
"Piper, calm down. He will not hurt us. He's changed."
"Yeah right. Get the hell out of Prue's room. Once I will get her back, she would not be pleased to hear that you were in here!" Piper said, in denial.
Phoebe looked at Cole, and then turned to Piper.
"Piper, Prue's gone. Okay? She is not coming back. We have to accept it".
"No. Prue would not have given up on me, and I sure will not give up on her. Just get out of here. Both of you" Piper said and sat back down on the floor.
The phone ring sounded through out the hallway.
Phoebe looked at Piper and walked out of the room, passing Cole.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Miss Halliwell?"
"Yes".
"I am calling from the Funeral house. I wanted to advice you about the amount of people who will be attending the funeral tomorrow".
"A right" Phoebe said and closed her eyes. She completely forgot about all the arrangements that had to be made.
         ~~~~        ~~       ~~~~        ~~        ~~~~       ~~       ~~~~
"Prue!" Piper said, and looked up at the ceiling of the house.
"I know you can hear me, Prue. Please, just talk to me. Please!" Piper said and took the ritual knife, cutting off tips of her hair and putting it into a small pot that already had three drops of her blood in it and a pinch of Korso herbs.
"My blood to yours, my heart to yours.
I call thy name, please release me from this came".
Piper looked around the attic, expecting an answer of some sort.
"Please Prue! At least give me a sign. I don't know how to save you otherwise" Piper said and looked up.
She received no answer. No sign. Nothing.
"I never thought that the most melancholy word I will ever hear is goodbye" she whispered, and looked at a framed picture of Prue.
                ~~~~        ~~       ~~~~        ~~        ~~~~       ~~       ~~~~
"Phoebe?"
Phoebe turned to Cole and looked at him with sadness.
"How are you dealing?" he asked and sat on her bed, beside her.
"I have just lost a sister. How do you deal with that? I don't know. But I have to try, if not for me or Piper than for Prue. I owe her at least that".
"It's gonna be okay, I love you Phoebe" Cole said and looked at her.
"I just wish I could trust you."
"You can. You know you can, in your heart," Cole said; he took her hand and put it on his chest, right on his heart.
"See?" he said; without taking his eyes away from hers.
"Yeah" Phoebe smiled.
"Are you ready to go?" Cole asked.
Phoebe took a deep breath, "yes".
                ~~~~        ~~       ~~~~        ~~        ~~~~       ~~       ~~~~
"Today we bury our sister. This is the day where we celebrate her life, her victory and achievements."
Tears ran down Phoebe and Piper's eyes as the service continued.
It was the most painful experience they have ever gone through.
          ~        ~~~         ~         ~~~        ~        ~~~        ~
Prue opened her eyes, and looked around.
She stood up slowly and looked down at herself.
"Prue,"
Prue turned around, still quite vaguely, "mom?" she asked in a fragile voice.
Patty nodded and reached her opened arms to Prue.
Prue ran towards her, as if walking on clouds, "oh god mom. I have missed you so much!" she said and looked at her mother, teary eyed.
All the surroundings around Prue were white. It seemed as though, where ever she looked, nothing had changed.
"Where am I?" Prue asked, "Is this some kind of a dream?"
"No. Its not a dream darling".
"Grams!" Prue turned her head and smiled, "but if I'm able to see you then"
"Prue, honey, it takes time to get used to" Patty said and looked at her.
"I'm dead?" Prue asked in shock and pulled away from her mother.
"Prue" A shiver went through Prue's body while trying to acknowledge the words that had just come out of her mouth.
"No! No This can't be" Prue looked at her mother and at Grams in looks of wonder, expecting to wake up every second now. They didn't say a word.
"B but how?" she asked, running her hand strongly against her forehead in distress, and looked at her grandmother.
"A car accident".
"I'm so sorry darling. The doctors just couldn't save you".
Prue looked at them as tears ran down her eyes, "isn't there any way?"
"I'm afraid there isn't, sweetie" said Grams and looked at Prue.
"Prue, you're not alone. We are here. We'll help you through this" said her mother and approached her.
Prue took a deep breath and asked, "what about Phoebe, and Piper?"
"Go see for yourself" said her mother.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Because you have never had the chance to say goodbye, they are letting you go back, just to see them" said Grams.
Prue turned around; her teary eyes sparkled from the thought of seeing her sisters.
"They won't be able to see you there, Prue," her mother added shortly.
"I just want to see them" Prue said and took a deep breath.
"So it shall be" Grams said and smiled to Prue, "it will be okay, Prue".
          ~        ~~~         ~         ~~~        ~        ~~~        ~
Piper stood up and walked up to the stand.
She took a deep breath as she faced the people. All were people who used to work with Prue, who knew her.
Prue looked at Piper. She reached her hand to her, and stood in shock as Piper went right through it. Prue could not believe it. Her body was transparent. She could see right through her own hands. It was all so new, so confusing.
Piper looked around in stagger, and then turned back to the stand.
"Prue was more than just my sister. She is... was my best friend; to lose her is like losing a part of me I'm sorry" Piper said and took a few steps backwards.
Phoebe quickly stood up and walked towards her.
"For all of you here, who know Prue, you probably know how courageous she is. What an incredible person she was and always will be" Phoebe touched Piper's hand and squeezed it tightly, "We love you, Prue". She said quietly as tears stood in her eyes.
Prue looked at her sisters, crying. She felt her heart breaking; the pain was horrible.
The pain of her sisters for her.
"Piper!" Prue yelled at the top of her voice, "Phoebe!"
Prue walked around them and tried touching them, calling them, but they did not answer; they didn't even sense her being there.
       ~~~~        ~       ~~~~        ~         ~~~~        ~       ~~~~
"Phoebe. Must all these people be here?" Piper asked, wandering aimlessly in the kitchen.
Phoebe glanced at a woman who passed through the kitchen, and turned to Piper, "It's a custom prosier."
"Yeah? Well I don't believe in
custom prosier anymore" Piper answered angrily and walked away.
The house was so empty without Prue. Piper kept waiting up for her, she expected Prue to come in every moment and say that everything would be all right. That the pain would finally stop.
Phoebe rolled her eyes in depression and turned around, bumping into Cole.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice was warm. It usually calmed Phoebe, but not this time.
She felt terrible burdensome inside. It was not until Prue's funeral that it hit her. Prue was gone.
"Yes" she muttered, "fine".
