| Prue slowed the car down at the sight of ten other lined cars at the traffic light. She drove very carefully now, more than ever before, after the accident. There was no way she was going to let that happen once more. Her fingers tapped on the steering wheel as the traffic stood num. She looked through the side windows at raindrops falling quickly from the sky, the dew quickly formed into heavy rain, which dropped to the ground, hitting the windshield and roof of the car strongly. Prue turned on the windshield wipers, which moved from side to side, struggling with the heavy rain. "Some autumn" Prue whispered quietly, while turning on the radio. It went off loudly playing heavy metal. Prue shuddered and switched the station to weather forecast. " As the weekend approaches us, so is the "Felcon" storm. It's bound to carry heavy rains, lightening and thunder with it, along with very strong wind, starting on Wednesday evening; we advice you to stay in your homes throughout this cold period and enjoy an indoor weekend back to you Dylan". "Great, now they tell me" Prue said, switching the station once more as apparently the traffic light turned green, being completely blocked from Prue's vision by the rain and by the large truck which stood in front of her, shading a large shadow on her car and adding to the blackout around her. Prue noticed several cars ahead moving quickly pass the traffic light, but the truck in front of her stayed still. "Oh, come on!" she said, moving in her seat, trying to catch a glimpse at the traffic light, but the only thing she could see was the back of the truck which was lit by her flashlights. Prue waited for several seconds, which seemed to last much longer to her, and pressed on the horn. Nothing happened, the truck didnt move. "Weird, I could swear I saw it pull up," Prue said quietly, and pressed the horn once more, this time holding it longer. Just what I need, a drunk who probably fell asleep on the wheel, she thought to herself, "screw it" She said, unfastening her seat belt. She pushed the car door open and got out of it, holding her hands tightly around one another, she ran towards the front of the truck, as the rain poured down on her, going right through her clothes, hair and shoes. The strong wind howled making it even more difficult to walk. Prue approached the front of the truck and jumped up onto the small steps, hanging onto the door. She opened it brutally, "hey! What do you -" she stopped and looked around the dim lit empty seats. "Hello?" she called, entering the truck and shutting the door behind her, causing total darkness to prevail around her, "Is anybody there?" she asked, while feeling the upper ceiling and trying to find a switch for the lights. She groped the ceiling above her head and pressed on a small switch. The dimmed lights went back on and Prue turned to the back of the truck. She pushed aside the Boudreaux colored curtains, which separated the front part with the back. All that she found there were cigarette butts, four bottles of empty beer lying around the damp floor. Clearly rain penetrated it, Prue assumed, almost sure of the matter. She peered further in as her hand encountered cobwebs; Prue flinched back and turned back to the drivers' seat, opening the door to the track and running back to her car. She got into her car and closed the door quickly. She turned on the heating, shivering from the cold, which still surpassed her bones. Prue rubbed her hands together to keep warm and blew hot air onto them. Her feet were soaking wet, she reached out to her bag and took out her cell phone with her shaking hands. "Hey, how are the studies going?" Piper asked, while in the kitchen, stirring the sugar in her coffee. Phoebe rolled her eyes and walked towards the refrigerator, "What's there to eat?" she asked, scanning the full contents of it and then shutting the door aimlessly, and turning to Piper sadly, "there is nothing in the fridge!" she said in a disappointed tone. "It's Full Phoebe!" Piper said, walking towards the stove. She glanced over at Phoebe and at the stew, which stood on the stove. "Want some of this? I cooked it today" Piper said, almost worried with Phoebe's reaction. "Stew? I sure am stewed up, I'll tell you that!" Phoebe said, walking towards the counter angrily, aiming her hand to one of the cups. "Wait!" Piper called and hurried towards her, "I made this one for you," she said, taking the warm cup out of Phoebe's hands, and placing it gently on the counter, replacing it with the other cup, "Decaf" Piper said and smiled. Phoebe shot a look of dissatisfaction at her sister and smiled forcefully. "Where's Leo?" she asked, taking a sip of the coffee mug. "He had to go see one of his other charges" Piper said with clear disappointment in her tone. "He didn't make a move yet?" Phoebe asked, as naturally as ever. Piper's eyes widened as she looked at her sister, "what?" Phoebe asked in surprise, "you two have been dancing around it for months. Just go for it, Piper. It's very clear he's into you." Piper followed her sister with her eyes, still shocked, as Phoebe headed out of the kitchen, sipping some more of her coffee, "it's a simply case of avoidant personality," she added. "What?" Piper called, hurrying after her sister, "Well it's clearly not in its full developed stage otherwise you'd be" Phoebe stopped, chuckling. "Phoebe! What does that mean?" Piper panicked. "Relax, Piper, it just means that you gotta act, and soon" Phoebe answered coolly, heading up the stairs, "But what is the avoidant thing?!" Piper squealed, following Phoebe with her eyes. "A characterized disorder by the avoidance of social lives and situations and excessive fear of rejection by others" Phoebe called out from upstairs and shut her door. Piper turned around rather pale and walked back into the kitchen; she sat down, joining her hands together around the coffee mug and gazing down it vaguely, reflecting upon her free-1-minute psychoanalysis. Phoebe put the mug down on the dresser, from the right side of her bed. She sat back onto the bed and re-opened a book. That book was like a mine to her, an unsolved maze. Phoebe turned, opening another book when suddenly she had the strongest urge to go downstairs. It was almost as if she was just looking for excuses not to study. "Okay, I have to focus" she whispered, opening the book and started reading, "the Cole Uh! What is the matter with me?" Phoebe asked when suddenly hearing a familiar voice, "You called?" Cole asked and turned to her. He was wearing a pair of black pants and a black Jacket, under which he had a dark blue shirt on. "Hey baby" she said and reached out to him, pulling him towards her, and kissed him. "Hey, what are you doing?" he asked, scanning the books with his eyes. "Oh, my final exam is on Friday and don't even ask!" She said, complaining. "What do you say I take you out? There's a nice restaurant in Rome," he said, smiling. "Baby, that sounds great!" Phoebe said, as her look collided with the pile of notes she had made, "Too bad I can't. I can't be distracted, otherwise I will never get all this done in time" she said, with disappointment and looked at him. "It's okay" he said and turned around, "Cole, I promise I'll make it up to you." Phoebe added, struggling with the guilt feelings she had started having. "I'll be waiting," he said, swiftly turning back to her. He kissed her cheek gently and shimmered out of the room. Phoebe sighed and turned back to the books. After a pointless half hour of attempted studying passed, Phoebe was almost well ready to give up, until an Idea came to mind. She ripped out an empty paper out of her notebook, and picked up the pen, hesitating at first, she began writing. What's the worst that can Happen? It's not like I have to use it if I write it, Phoebe thought to herself. When concentration can't be reached, I cast these words to make it leached. Allow me to see what is now hidden deep, And let my mind be entered in leap. Phoebe folded the paper into four pleats. She held it tightly in her right hand, squeezing it nervously; "Oh, I hope personal gain isn't gonna come back and bite me in the ass" she said quietly and brought her hand closer to her chest. She enchanted the spell, hoping it'll work but nothing had changed, she didn't feel any differently. Phoebe put the note back down, a tad surprised. It was the first time a spell didn't work. She looked down, passing her hand over her notes as suddenly, she saw a premonition. She saw herself walking out of her bedroom and into the hallway and suddenly bumping into Prue. All of a sudden, almost unexpectedly, everything became dizzy to her; she looked down on Prue's shaky hands that were holding a knife covered in blood. Then, she lowered her look onto the large bleeding hole in her stomach. Phoebe looked up at Prue, still not quite comprehending what was happening to her, she felt sharp pain running through her entire body, piercing her heart, Prue on the other hand, seemed even more shocked of what had happened. Phoebe opened her eyes, letting out a horrible scream. The sound of rain outside strengthened, now joined by lightening followed by thunder. Suddenly, a door opened with a screech. We should get that fixed, Piper thought to herself, while heading towards the attic. Phoebe stood up, slowly pacing towards the bedroom door. She reached out her hand, shakily, to touch the knob and opened the door. Phoebe peered out of the room and looked both ways out of the hallway, to make sure no unneeded surprises stab her. "Marco!" she called, hoping Piper would hear her and rejoin her. "Polo!" Piper called out, facing The Book. She avoided touching it, since the pages managed flipping themselves. Phoebe strayed into the attic, keeping aware of her surroundings, "Piper, I just had a premonition" she said, as she entered the attic, spotting the pages stopping from flipping further. Piper glanced at her and then turned back to The Book. "What did you see? You look pale," she said, as Phoebe approached her at the stand. "I a, I saw Prue stabbing me," Phoebe said, and quickly continued to Piper's shocked expression, "b but I don't think she knew what she was doing, she looked just as shocked as you do right now". "Ironic" Piper mumbled, "What did you touch?" "Umm, my notes" Phoebe said, quite prevailed for several seconds between them and the storm sound from outside strengthened. "Hey, I'm home!" "Saved by the Prue," Piper said, joining her hand with Phoebe's and pulling her towards the door. Prue closed the door behind her with a bang and took three steps forward; Her shoes were filled with water, squashing them against the wet floor, covered in water dripping off her clothes and hair. "Whoa! What happened to you?" Piper asked, leading Phoebe down the stairs and towards Prue. "You will not believe it," Prue said, taking off her coat. Piper and Phoebe exchanged looks, wondering whether now is a good time to let her in on the premonition. "What?" Prue asked, catching their looks. "Should we tell her?" Piper asked under her breath, turning her look to Phoebe. "Umm, Prue, what happened?" Phoebe asked, turning to her soaking wet sister. "Oh, I was on my way back home and the storm started, out of no where; anyways, I was stuck in traffic and when the lights changed, this truck in front of me didn't budge. I honked the horn like three times and nothing!" she said, while taking off her shoes and heading towards the fireplace. Piper and Phoebe looked at her, quickly heading after her into the living room. "So I decide to go in and see what the matter with that guy is, and when I got into the truck, it was empty". "Empty as in?" "Empty, as in total emptiness! There was no sign of anyone except for cigarette butts and empty beer bottles". "So, maybe the truck was abandoned there?" Phoebe suggested, trying to hold Piper back from telling Prue of the Premonition. She wasn't quite sure why, maybe she was a tad scared of how Prue would react. Maybe she has noticed something different about herself that could cause the premonition to actually be realized. "No, that's not a possibility. I saw it stopping at the traffic light," Prue said, holding her hands above the fireplace for warmth. "W What did you do?" Phoebe asked, not appeared to be as interested in the question, her right hand was massaging her neck and her eyes were swiftly focusing on the ceiling and back at Prue. "Anyways, I called a tow truck and waited out there till they came and then just drove here," Prue said, noticing her sisters' behavior now better then before, "but you're not really interested, are you? What's going on?" she asked, all on the same breath. "Yeah, we actually have a bigger problem on our hands" Piper said, turning to Phoebe, hinting her with her eyes to speak up to Prue. "Well, umm, Prue I a, well, I saw you stab me" Phoebe finally blurred out. "What? Are you sure?" Prue asked. "I don't think I'd be confused about something like that," Phoebe said, almost in a tone of laughter, something she found rather funny considering her earlier concerns of the matter. Phoebe drifted off for a moment in her mind, thinking of the appropriate psychological term for her feelings, and thinking of whether there actually is one fitting for this category. "The thing is," Phoebe continued about being slightly elbowed by Piper, "You didn't seem aware of what you were doing, I mean, I saw you face and you didn't understand what you did". "Strange. Did you check The Book?" She asked, glancing over at Piper. "Well, the pages were flipping again when I went up there, a! Which reminds me, we have got to get that door fixed, it's been screeching like hell lately!" Piper said, eyeing Prue. "Alright, you know what? I will go dry off and take a shower cause if I don't, Piper here is going to kill me for ruining the carpets," she said, feeling Piper's eyes on her. "Phoebes, you go study, We'll call you if we need you and Piper you go check The Book. Okay? Good" Prue announced decisively, heading upstairs, without even letting her sisters' monitor a word into her speech. Phoebe gazed at Prue's shadow as it went into the bathroom and walked into her bedroom. She had a hunch that the premonition she had could very well be gushing from the spell she had cast previously. She deliberated over the possibility whether to tell her sisters about the spell or not; But thinking of it, she really didn't need the slack she would get, all she needed was some peace and quiet, and more importantly her well earned concentration. Piper went up to the attic to get The Book, and suddenly stopped in her place as she noticed what page The Book was open on. Strange, she thought to herself while coming closer. "To release what is unbound and to find that which is in the seeker's grip, The knowledge he possesses will make those who need desire leap. To strength which is yet unknown and to power yet not nurtured. The words I now call out to face the night alone, and help what is inside to grow and be known". Piper read out the words, without yet knowing what they would do. What a simple incantation from The Book, would cause. She looked further down the page and continued reading, "The Velkero Demon, known for preying his victims to the bones when sucking the life out of them" "Hey" Prue's voice echoed around the attic as she walked in, wearing a pair of blue jeans and a light brown colored top with strings hanging down from its sleeves. "Hi" Piper looked up at her sister as she approached her. "Anything?" Prue asked, glancing over Piper's shoulder and into The Book, "Velkero Demon?" she mumbled, "I could have sworn I've heard the name somewhere before". "Prue, not to divert much from the subject here but -" Suddenly, Piper froze. She managed to move her eyes, which were now focused on her sister, who at the moment seemed to be even more confused then Piper. Prue looked at her sister, trying to speak but no words came out. Then everything went black. Phoebe opened her eyes and looked around. She looked down at a long sleeved black sweater and on her legs a pair of dark denim Jeans. She pondered a while but soon rose to her feet and swayed around the room. It seemed different. The stack of books, which lay on the bed before was gone. She turned around and nearly fell in shock as she looked at the mirror in front of her. "My hair!" She whispered in shock while touching her short black hair. "Prue! Piper!" Phoebe called and quickly walked towards the door to her room. "Phoebe?! Where are you?" Piper called, sounding rather frantic. She looked around the attic, trying to locate Prue what she wasn't there. Suddenly, she felt as if a strong weight fell down on her, pressing strongly onto her back. She glanced down and let out a scream while staring with great eyes at her stomach. "Piper! I think I'm hallucinating!" Phoebe's voice sounded from downstairs and her heels clanked strongly against the carpet tile on the wooden stairs as she raced up into the attic. "Whoa!" Phoebe stopped near the threshold, staring blankly at Piper. "Are Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Piper managed whispering in between her teeth, looking up at Phoebe. "You're you're Pregnant?" Phoebe murmured in shock and approached her sister. "Can't be!" Piper retorted. "Oh but it is" Phoebe said, reaching down and patting Piper's belly. "Get your hands off me! This is some kind of a hallucination! I'm sure it is! It has to be" Piper said decisively and walked towards the door when suddenly she stopped, "Oh!" "What? What?" Phoebe hurried to her. "I felt a kick" Piper answered in shock, with her right hand pressed against her stomach. "Aww!" Phoebe smiled and hugged her sister, "whatever this is. I think I'm starting to like it!" "I'm pregnant but I'm not even married! Figures" Piper said when Phoebe interrupted her in an admiring tone of voice, while looking up at Piper's left hand, which she held against the wall for support. "That's some ring!" Phoebe laughed. Piper, having a very hard time believing it was all real, followed Phoebe downstairs to look for Prue. Maybe she had an explanation for this. Nevertheless, she couldn't help feeling the same admiration while looking down at her sparkling ring. "Prue?" Phoebe called while walking down the stairs to the parlor. No answer. "What is going on?" Piper asked as she finally reached the foot of the stairs and looked around. Before she or Phoebe, for that matter, could say another word, blue sparks appeared in front of them and Leo orbed in. "Hi Honey!" he smiled and took Piper into his arms, kissing her. Phoebe looked at them with bewilderment, yet soon started giggling, since this whole ordeal seemed to be getting better and better. But where was Prue? "Leo?" Piper asked with caution. "Piper" he replied, having no clue as to why she acted so surprised to see him. "Wait!" Phoebe chuckled out, "you two are married!" "Of course we are, have been for almost three years" Leo replied with a smile and turned to Piper, "Are you two alright?" he asked Piper who stared at him with her mouth gaped. "Leo, this could sound a bit odd but where the hell are we?" Piper asked. "What do you mean where, At Home". "But this morning! We were at the house and I wasn't pregnant or married and Phoebe had her hair!" Piper panicked. "What?" Leo asked. "You mean, you don't remember?" Phoebe stepped in, looking up at Leo. "Remember what?" he asked. Piper exchanged looks of wonder with Phoebe and then asked, "W where's Prue?" "Prue?" Leo asked. "Yes, Leo. Where is she?" |
