| ********* But I love (love, loathe, repeat) the way youd roll excuses off the tip of your tongue as Id slowly fall apart, (fall apart, just fall apart) -great romances of the 20th century, by Taking Back Sunday ********* He knows, Lilah Morgan thought, cursing under her breath as she stalked back to her apartment. Normally, shed take her time sauntering about the city, she loved her nighttime walks. She was, after all, practically a creature of the night, and no demon- or human, would dare attack her. All creatures of the underworld knew her and feared her, Lilah Morgan, Vice-President of Special Projects for Wolfram and Hart. Except one. The one person who didnt fear her who should, that arrogant prick of a vampire. Once, Lilah had been attracted to Angel, or to the darkness within him. It drew her to him, the thought of the demon within, but now, it held nothing for her. Angelus, Lilah knew, would have once been a powerful ally- in and out of the bedroom. She wasnt sure why, the game had gotten old between them- Lilah didnt like to be put on hold. She also didnt like to be bitten like that. She loved vampires just fine, just as long as they realized that she was not a Happy Meal with legs. Lilah liked those kindred spirits; with shadows enveloping hearts just as cold as hers- she felt more comfortable around demons that humans, sometimes. They were fellow people who were more suited to moonlight than the sun. Not that she needed one now. But still, where the Hell did that bastard get off taunting her about Wesley? Its not like it was his business; after all, she should have commented that she knew about him and Cordelia. It wasnt fair that he had managed to take he back like that- if there was one thing Lilah hated, it was being one-upped by a self righteous vampire like Angelus. Still, it would have been priceless to see the look on Angeluss face when she mentioned the girl. Lilah could have been descriptive, too- she knew all about their night out at the ballet. Not that theyd had sex yet, but if Lilah had been a little more reckless- and a little less taken aback- she would have reminded him that his soul was like virginity. Sex kinda does away with them. Footsteps echoed behind Lilah. Great, he was following her. What was he doing, making sure she didnt go back to Connor? Lilah wasnt stupid she knew that as long as the vampire hung around, shed have to find other ways to get to him. Angelus, she decided, was rapidly overtaking Gavin on her list of people to kill before thirty-five. With Linwood gone, Gavin had gotten number one- now, she was having way too many warm and fuzzy images of Angelus being thrown into a pool of holy water and sharks. Lilah smiled at the thought, and then sighed as she realized that Angelus was still following her. She rolled her eyes, contemplating taking a taxi, but then, that would show fear. She didnt fear Angelus. Why should she? In fact, if she wasnt afraid, Why shouldnt she turn around and confront Angelus? You know, I doubt that Cordelia girl would like knowing that youre out stalking women at night. she remarked as she turned around. And why would Cordelia care about that? Wesley quipped back, smirking slightly as Lilahs eyebrows rose in surprise. He liked doing that, catching her off guard. It was such fun, like a new little game. He rarely won, but when he did, oh, god, seeing her like that, so.. Vulnerable. His mind filled in for him. Yes, vulnerable, that would be it. It was rather odd seeing the lawyer like that, he wasnt used to it, with her eyes becoming almost doe-like- well, maybe more deer-in-headlights- but what surprised him more was just how sexy it was. Yes, getting Lilah caught with her guard down always seemed to add to his already twisted list of turn-ons from Lilah. My, my, look what the cat brought it. What, were you checking up on darling Connor too? Lilahs smirk slipped back into place as Wesley walked up to her. Hed taken her by surprise, dammit, and she wasnt truly annoyed, surprisingly enough. She looked at him, realizing how much she missed him since she left him earlier. I figured that it might be best, being as how he is out on his own and vulnerable, Lilah. I thought you would have been a bit more cautious. he was almost chiding her, he didnt know why he would care if Angel ended up beating the Hell out of Lilah. Well, no, that was a lie. He cared because, he had to admit, as intolerable, catty, and as bitchy as the woman was, he did care about her, and that was what got him. What got him even more was how intensely he was beginning to care- and that frightened the living Hell out of him. He was fine sleeping with her, and dining with her, and most of all, fucking her, but caring was not in the rules, not in the playbook- and especially not this. Caring was wondering if she was all right, what he was doing was following her in a dark alleyway to make sure she was. He knew it wasnt love, but love wasnt the enemy here. Love isnt all consuming, lust is. Lust and obsession, and he was becoming dangerously close to tripping over that line. Of who? Angelus? Lilah snorted, disdain on her face. Please, Wesley. Im a big girl. I can take care of myself. The big bad vampire- oops, I mean, the good vampire- wouldnt kill me. Couldnt. Thats the thing about having a soul, Wes, it makes you weak. Havent you been listening to me? she purred as she stepped closer to him, her body already painfully aware of his presence. She was humming with energy; already the unpleasant encounter with Angel was slipping from her memory. I wouldnt put it past Angel, he warned her as his arms snaked around her slender waist. He breathed in, taking in the scent of Lilah, from her shampoo to her perfume, the musky scent that she wore that seemed to make his stomach clench just by smelling it from across the room. Mm, why, Wesley, I do think youre a bit concerned about me. Lilah smiled, and Wesley chuckled. Lilah, if something happened to you, who the Hell would I get to pull into my bed for however long as I please- You mean I please, lover. As long as I please, and fuck their wicked little brains out? Wesleys eyes were getting that look in them, Lilah knew it well, had memorized it, they haunted her in her dreams. They were darkening, which meant fun time for Lilah tonight. She grinned, kissing him passionately, enjoying how fiercely he kissed her back. She arched into him, fully enjoying the kiss- I can smell you two together. Lilah pulled away, rapidly, despite Wesleys strength. God damn Angel, she cursed, her minds changing from Wesley and all the wicked things she wanted to do to him, to killing Angel, and then screwing Wess mind out. So, Angel said something to you? Wesley gave a hint of a smile, and chuckled as Lilah was again taken by surprise. He loved doing this, two in one night; he was getting really good. Wesley knew damn well what Angel had said, hed been close enough by and he knew Angel knew it too, maybe the vampire was trying to warn him. But Lilah was who he was dealing with now, and he wanted her to spell it out. Let me guess, you were eavesdropping, too? Not quite, but tell me, Lilah, what did Angel say that could make you look so damn surprised? he asked, lightly nipping at her throat. He could tell by her breathing that she was already fairly aroused, while panicking over Wesleys inquiries, and Wesley planned to work this to one hell of an advantage. He... he knows. About us. Lilah was still, cold, trying to suppress the lust that was taking over her body. Her arms unconsciously tightened around his neck, as if trying to keep him there. She didnt know why, she just couldnt... wouldnt let him go. Panic ran through her, it showed in her eyes and she knew that, too. Damn. She expected the bastard to either laugh or leave, cursing her for her stupidity or something like that. She wouldnt care, she promised herself. This is just sex, just sex- except, shed had just sex before, with plenty of guys- her last tryst was with Lindsey, before Darla came around, and while he was good, it hadnt made her feel half as good as this. Mm, pity, Lilah. And were you planning on telling me this? he asked, running his hands over her throat while backing her against the alley wall. Surprise took over her. She hadnt expected- well; maybe she had, in a small part of her where hope still lived. She then realized that hed known all along what Angel had said. Hed have to pay for that. Though he was making it rather hard for her with his hands stroking the hollow in her throat- dammit, not a fair play, Wesley knew she couldnt resist him when she did that- and she had to admit, it kinda made her feel relieved that he was there- shed concluded it would probably be better to take on Angel with more than one person. She may have a small death wish, but she wasnt outright suicidal. Possibly. She smiled, taunting him almost. Is this your version of interrogation? Only when speaking with lawyers who earlier cheated me out of my own, personal pleasure. He grinned, pressing against her, feeling Lilah against him, breathing her in, kissing her passionately, almost feral. Lilah moaned, her hands flying down to his zipper. I told you, Id make it up to you later, she murmured, almost like she wasnt there, too caught up in the feelings his hands were creating. Well, its later now, so I suggest you start making it up. *** Angel stood on a rooftop nearby, watching the entire damn spectacle, feeling absolutely livid, and he wasnt sure at whom. Whether at that bitch who was enticing his friend down the road, or for his own friend, or at least, someone who he thought was a friend, acting like this, fucking this woman who had tried to destroy Angel for years, and even Angels own son. He watched, unable to turn away. He damned his own super-sensitive hearing, he could hear their mutters to each other in their passionate moment, hear Lilahs soft cries and Wesleys moans. He watched, feeling the rage burning inside of him as Lilahs face twisted in ecstasy, her eyes flying open for a moment. Finally, he turned away; unable to watch any longer at what was once the man he called Wesley. *** Wesleys head collapsed onto Lilahs shoulder, their breathing heavy and fast. God, he needed her, needed this. He had to admit he looked forward to finding her this evening, had planned it all day. Despite all the business he was getting, despite his continued efforts to find Cordelia (he had no quarrel with her, actually), Lilah haunted his mind. His bed was covered in her scent, he had a small collection of her ripped panties, abandoned bras or shirts- he couldnt get away from her. He didnt want to, losing himself in her like this, watching her face, knowing that there was someone in this entire damn universe that he could reach out to that would reach back, no matter how much the demon in him took over. His lust was starting to rule him, his need for her grew every night she was there. She looked at him, her eyes halfway closed. If she were a cat, shed be purring right about now. She leaned up and kissed him, gently, sensually, with more intimacy that Lilah usually allowed herself. Lilah was becoming more confused with her actions tonight, first being somewhat thankful for her protector and now being Miss Sweetheart to him. They were changing, and God, it scared her, but she was so tired of being hard- sometimes, she needed to be soft. I really needed that, she smiled, resting against him. God, she loved his strength, the way he held her so close, as if he couldnt get close enough. She looked at his hair, tousled, and looking so sexy- she couldnt resist running her hands through his hair, it felt so good. He relaxed under her touch, closing his eyes. Honesty usually wasnt her style, but then again, neither was an alley wall. However, it felt good to say it, to put it in the open, it felt better to see hear him tell her that he did too, which he did, with another passionate kiss. I think someone was watching us, he murmured. You dont mind that he knows? Surprise, surprise. I told you, Lilah, that part of my life is over. I can do whatever I want. He kissed her, powerfully yet briefly. Correction, whoever. He looked at her, looked at her beautiful, dangerous face, always ready to pounce. He rubbed a thumb over her lips, watching her eyelids flutter. They were being unusually sensual tonight; he wasnt sure why- maybe the fact that he knew he was afraid of losing her. Hell, maybe the bitch felt the same. It frightened him, and fascinated him, watching the hardened woman before him melt into softness under his touch, and he wanted more... so much more... Besides, Im not done with you yet, Lilah. Very sweet, Wesley. No wonder the girls flock to you. Lilah quipped, and he sighed. Damn her mouth, he couldnt put up with the stinging barbs tonight- she was getting hard again, and he wanted her soft like she was. He wanted to make her soft again. He smothered her spiteful lips with yet another kiss, wanting her under him again. Stay with me tonight, he whispered in her ear. He half expected her to not take it, with some excuse of work and meeting in the morning. Sometimes shed take him up on it, usually on weekends when she was sure she wouldnt be disturbed- or worse yet, discovered- but why shoudl they worry now? Instead, her eyes almost lit up- for Lilah would never allow herself to fully light up like that. We wont get any sleep. Sure we will. Ill just have to tire you out. He moved away from her, taking her hand. She stilled. It was almost too intimate a touch for her. Too sweet, too romantic. But... it felt good to hold hands with someone. Especially him. They were warm, and her body was cold, very cold, already missing his heat. She didnt want to let her guard down, but she already had. Shed made herself soft, made herself weak like this, for him. She could refuse the hand, and leave, only to come back in a day and take it later. It was too late for resistance. By allowing him into her body, her mind... it wasnt love. Lilah knew that. It was lust. Intense, amazing, wonderful lust. And she knew it was too late to go back. She looked into his eyes, hesitating, and then, she did something that she couldnt quite control. She gave in. She wrapped her fingers around his, squeezing his hand, gently. Lead the way. End Fiction Home |
