1936 Briggs and Stratton WM |

This is the WM, a washing machine engine. I came across it at the Alxander NY show. It was shot, and needed new everything. It was built in 1937, originally as a kick start, But the Crank was changed out and the clutch was left off, so now it is a rope start |

In this picture, you can see the gas tank (original), the small vacumn mixer, the oil filler, and the original saftey decal. This engine has it's small oilbase and the type 2 oil system. This system was recalled by the factory and all of these were supposed to be converted to splash lube. I was lucky to find it |

This shows the true flathead style of this engine. This was one of the first Briggs engines to have a flathead design, which was one of the reasons they were used on washing machines. Also visible is the kick starter, which, as previously stated, does not work on this engine. |
