| Okay, Now, I don't profess to be a person who really like the human race all that much. People are self centered, greedy , arrogant,and lazy. Hmmm, doesn't sound too good to me. I don't really know why we are here. I understand the whole Christian explanation for it, But I fail to see any reason a god would want to create a world and put people in it. It baffles me. People suck. They are one of the only animals that kill each other for no good reason. Hmmm...Real intelligent. they are one of the only ones that hurt one another for no damn reason. | Okay, Now i think It's time for a go-round as far as public education and schools are concerned. Let's make this clear from the start: Public schools are a half-assed excuse for education. Just look at the way the Regent's test is frequently scored. The tests that kids have to pass have (usually) some enormous positive curve on them so some dumb-ass who slept through his bio class can pass the test with a 38%!!!!! Okay! lets "Raise the standards". all those morons in Albany are doing is dumbing the tests down and putting such a curve on them that you don't even have to think. Then there are the classes that you don't need for graduation. THose get the negative curve. Wonderful. So this past year you could get a 65% but still fail the test. and your test is graded in such a manner that if the teacher makes a mistake, YOU ARE SCREWED!!!! But then one can't think that the teacher is the enemy. These teachers have to try and teach this bullshit that the state says they have to. They have to TEACH TO THE TEST, rather than teaching material that one would actually see in real life. You can't slow down for anything in these classes, because if you do, you run out of time and don't get through all of the material. No, Teachers aren't the enemy. The Board of education/administration....hehehe. They are the real enemy. They (at least at my former school) are the upper middle class parents and the upper class parents who make $100,000+ per year. They think they awant to help out. They think (even those with teaching background) that they know what alot of this crap is like. I don't give a damn if you were a teacher even 5 years ago. If you go into administration/ Board of eduaction, you are going to the dark side. You have lost connection with the kids who have to pass these tests. The real unfortunate thing is that most of the crap you are forced to learn you will NEVER USE in your day to day life. (Those of you who want to bitch at me about this, Tell me the next time you will need to use a polynomial in your daily life ;) ) You want a way that would work better? let kids be kids and have fun growing up. Figure out what they are good at in gradeschool, and encourage them. Don't have this general busllshit that is High School. IT doesn't work. Life is about living. making $$$$ is good, but there's more to life than that. School doesn't teach that. It teaches kids how to be cruel to each other. It teaches us that 38, or 40, or 90% all pull the same weight. They don't. Even an idiot like myself can tell you that. Just my two cents, and I expect to get hell for this from most of you! | Okay, before I went off on Public education, Now I am going to go off on upper level education, Especially community colleges They are essentially 2 more years of high school, with teachers who know a little more about the material. My reccomendation: Pass and goto a real school. September 23, 2003 |

| Okay, Now it is a new Semester, and I have a job, and after going back to school, I would rather opt for working Minimum wage my entire life than have my skills that I am goiung to be getting become obsolete in a few years, which is what is going to happen. I am probably not going to go into a field that relates to what I am studying Knowing me, I will go into some kind of a bullshit job like cleaning manure out of a manure gutter....some kind of job that is entirely useless, yet you still have to do it. I don't really like our "Developed"country. What have we done? We have created a race of stupid people who mostly sit behind desks their whole lives and eat Fast food and Sue the Fast food company because they are overweight. I mean what the Hell? Ah yes, and then We have our lovely leader. Advocating low taxes and what does he do? He and the AARP go and create some dumb-ass Health plan that will cost the Country close to $400 BILLION dollars after it is fully implemented. And then this asshole has the nerve to go and tell everyone that he wantys the country to goto the moon and then to mars. Estimates of the costs of this are close to $1 TRILLION. And I thought the Cold war was expensive!I am sorry, But guess what? What most of us Yopung people forget is that WE will have to pay this BILL! long after GWB is sitting in his mansion, WE will still be paying for these programs! Oh, and I should mention that this health care plan will not do a damn thing for many people who NEED it. I haven't even mentioned the "War" on Terror, which has just been a measly $80 billion. People bitch and Moan about Clinton, But he didn't go and Waste taxpayer's dollars! He had the brains to know what "Reaganomics" are, unlike GWB. I don't give a damn about his personal life....look at those who we consider Great Presidents! JFK! WASHINGTON!!! all of them were more like clinton than GWB! What is going to happen to the US if this unconrolled spending keeps occuring???I'm sorry, But we are in trouble! |
