Chapter Two - Getting Ready

They went to the Wizard-Muggle Intercontinental Travel Office, at the Ministry of Magic, the next day to make arrangements and get the proper paperwork needed. The office helped Wizards get passports and other paperwork together, so that wizards could travel to other countries without causing problems with Muggle immigration. They also had a travel agent who had knowledge in Muggle traveling, so Harry and Ron went to see her, as well.

They sat down in front of her desk in two plushy chairs and waited for her to come back from where she had gone to get them brochures.

Harry said, "Are we just going to take her advice about everything?"

Ron said, "Yeah, I mean, I don't have any particular ideas. I just want to go."

The lady returned and handed both guys brochures about Miami, as well as the whole state of Florida. She asked as she sat down, "So, how long do you want to go for?"

Harry said, "Well, about two weeks. That's how long we can take off of work."

"Okay...now do you have any ideas in mind of things you want to do?"

Harry and Ron started talking at the same time. "I want to see museums and..." "I want to party and..."

The lady looked from Harry to Ron and back again. "Well, I can probably accommodate you both...especially in Miami."

Ron ears perk up at this. He was the one who wanted to party. "Really?"

"Oh yes, it has lots of clubs and nightlife, but it also has cultural things for you..." She nodded to Harry.

Ron gulp a bit nervously before he said, "The clubs and stuff...is it...are they...does Miami have gay clubs?"

The lady raised an eyebrow before she said, "Yes, Miami has an active...what do the people in the States call it?" She shuffled through some paperwork. "Oh, here it is...they call it an alternative lifestyle."

Ron squinted his eyes questioningly at her. "Alternative lifestyle? Alternate to what?"

Harry turned to him and said, "Alternate to being straight."

Ron looked over at Harry and said, "So why doesn't that make you have an alternative lifestyle? You're alternate to me!"

The lady cleared her throat and looked at Harry and said, "Now is this something both of you are interested in or not?"

Ron snorted, "Ha! No, not Harry."

Harry glared at Ron. "I do like to party sometimes."

Ron looked at Harry and said, "Rarely and never with boys."

Harry said nothing, as since he had left school that was the truth, but Ron knew damn well it hadn't always been that way.

About two hours later, they left the office with various paperwork, passports, tour brochures, and reservations. They had also changed enough money to get them through the first few days. They had changed wizard money into English Pounds, which in turn they needed to change into U.S. dollars. It was a little confusing, but Harry hoped the bankers knew what they were doing.

Now they were ready to go and there was really no turning back.
