SSFI monitoring stations detect strange and uncharacteristic military movements. The Gorn appear to be moving ships away from the border into their own territory.
Following on from this, Patrols dicover that there appears to be large energy readings coming from isolated areas within the Gorn empire. It is speculated that the Gorn are being invaded. Secret Diplomatic attempts to offer assistance are refused and basically the Federation are firmly told to butt out.
1. A heavily damaged and out of control Gorn heavy cruiser is detected drifting into SF territory between Cestus and the Klingon border. A ship is dispatched to assist and investigate, caution is suggested.
On arrival the ship refuses to answer hails and an AT is sent after scans discover life support very low and many injured Gorn. However the survivors are not friendly.
The above can be ploted out in detail.
Well into the mission a small task force of Gorn destroyers arrive and warn off the SF vessel.
This can be ploted through to a tactical or diplomatic end. the ships arriving can be friend or foe to the stricken Gorn Cruiser. The purpose of this is to establish internal problems within the Gorn empire are leaching into Federation space. (This is suitable for a sim or NPC SSFI Crew).
2. Sporadic incidents along the border involving Gorn ships breaking into Federation space to either continue their internal struggles or to raid outposts/colonies/passing ships for technology, weapons and food (as in human).
This could inclued a running battle on the border between Gorn forces that end in a Gorn occupation of a SF planet in part. (This could be a string of plots, there are many variations to this theme that could be diplomatic or Tactical in nature.)
3. A small outpost is captured by a rogue and desperate faction of Gorn who devour the crew and begin dismanteling the technology.
A SSF vessel is sent to Iradicate the intruders and at all costs retrieve the technology.
(This is suitable for a sim or a non sim plot.)
