The Gorn

Agressive non-cooperative species.
Regards humanoids as lower down the food chain in a literal sense. Generally non intrusive into SF territory, however there have been a number of isolated and serious incidents.

StarFleet Intelligence and SSFI additional Classified.

Intelligence gathering operations are restricted to monitoring.

The monitoring is achieved by whatever means available. There are a string of small relay stations along the border, some have been modified and seconded to StarFleet Special Forces Intelligence.
These have been modified to scan further into Gorn Territory, but this is only partially affective.

Scans taken by passing or patrol ships plus the occasional contact are also means of intel gathering.

Covert operations into the Gorn Territory have been tactically drawn up but not approved. It is regarded as a highest of  risk operations with the potential to trigger a diplomatic incident.
Undercover operations are also difficult due to the very physical nature of the Gorn. So far SSFI have been unsuccessful in an attempts to solicite internal contacts. Gorn simply do not spy on their own kind for humanoids, at any cost.

The Tactical stand point of the Gorn is generally unknown. They have a defencive formation of fleets stationed near to the border but they rarely  preform Tactical Manouvers.

Their level of technology is thought to be almost advanced as SF standard.
However there is no evidence that they have aquired cloaking technology. SFI have been tracking several illegal weapons traders who are known to have made contact with the Gorn.

It is possible that SSFI maybe able to bring one of these traders into our ranks of informers.

Gorn Socio-Political configuration.

SSFI regards the Gorn as an unstable element.

The Gorn appear to be made up of several Clan's or factions that run independantly of each other but cooperate under one leadership.
The current leadership of the Gorn is in the hands of the largest Clan Family and has been for as long as SF has had contact with this species.
Eventhough there appears to be some kind of Clan council of elders. The leadership is very much a dictatorship, only using the Council for political manouvering. The influence of this Council over the leadership is uncertain and would require a better understanding of the Gorn phycology. At this time that knowledge is limited.
