The fact of to have been called on to us to place to us in situation to obtain original observations of important fields, that they substantially modify our knowledge on the fisiopatologia of the internal life and that they bring linked a new therapeutic one of destined medical-surgical physiology to being of general importance, has induced to us to write this new work that serves from fortification others more, since the new discoveries and the new facts impose this necessity.
As one will see, our conduct is defined and in many aspects innovating, because it seems that thus it needs to make it in many knowledge and previous ideas, that they talk about the physiological surgery of the internal life. It is probable that there is some disagreement between the authorities of these subjects, but later the facts will prevail in benefit of the truth and the patients. Those accept our gratitude that grant authority to us sufficient to study, to meditate and to take advantage of this doctrine and experience.(" The New Functional Pathology ", 1951).
