History:

The Bf-110 twin engine fighter first flew on May 12th 1936. Tests were interrupted by the poor performance of the DB600A engines. Despite of this production was ordered and by August 1939 159 Bf-110C had been accepted by the Luftwaffe. The production rate reached a 100 aircraft a month by 1940 and large numbers were used during the Battle Of Britain.
The aircraft operated throughout the whole of the war and was developed into many versions including night fighter and escort fighter variants.
The Kit:

Matchbox kits you either love em or hate them. I always liked them and in their defence they did produce some unusual types as well as the usual Spits and Bf-109 etc. I have been after a Bf-110 for a while and when this kit came up at this sale price It was a chance to indulge in some nostalgia as well.
This kit dates from 1983 as has been repackaged by Revell. The Kit comes in the usual Matchbox packaging with the two colour schemes and painting instructions are depicted on the back. The instructions are in the A4 fold out format (I had two sets in mine!) They present a clear set of construction steps.
The detail is in the form of raised lines and fine rivet marks. As for accuracy obviously not as accurate as the Japanese kits but looks to make into a good representative of this Luftwaffe twin engine. You get three sets of sprues in glorious Matchbox Technicolor.
There are two aircraft that can be made from the decals, one Bf-110 6/ZG 76  based on the Russian Front and the other 11/ZG.1 based in France during the 1940. The question of Swastikas raises its head again but the instructions show where they should be positioned When available.
Conclusion:

This should build in to a reasonable kit. Im sure a lot of people will be put of by the make, but for the money (and the nostalgia value) I recommend it !
