Wuhan in Hubei Province

Wuhan is one of the largest cities located in central China.
It is the capital of Hubei province. It serves as a
central point for commerce and a link for travelers between the north and the
south. It is conveniently located along the middle section of the
ChiangJiang (or Yangtze) River and situated almost equal distance between
Beijing (north) and Guangzhou (south).
This weather is the worse part of being in this city. It gets so hot (up to about 43 C) in the summer and extremely cold (snows often) in the winter. Days of spring and autumn are very short.
This
is the Yellow Crane Tower. It is one of the most famous structures in
ancient China. Many famous poets praised its beauty and elegance.

The Provincial Museum
The Hubei Provincial Museum is located in Wuhan. Here are three snapshots I took in the museum.
This
is a set of musical instruments called Bien Zhong meaning 'arranged
bells'. They were made more than 2000 years ago. They were
discovered buried deep underground in a small town in the Hubei province.
This
is the front gate of HuaGong
University, a leading university for technical
fields in China. Supposedly, large statues of Mao such as this one are
harder to find in present day China.
This
is a statue of the famous poet Su Dong Po. He was writing poems during the
Sung dynasty in the present day city of Huangzhou, Hubei province.
