Suzhou in Jiangsu Province:
Waterways 1
Canals of this kind are common in the city of Suzhou. This 6 second flick
was created on a short boat trip through a canal. I wish pollution could
be control so the water can be cleaner.

building in the middle was a sentry guard house built in the Ming dynasty.
The canals served as great defense mechanisms.

Suzhou Landscape
1 This was taken on the seventh floor of "BeiShi"
Pagoda. As the city planers tried to preserve the cultural relics of the
this ancient city, much of Suzhou's architecture remained the typical 'gray roof
with white walls'. New buildings are built to this standard and old ones
are maintained to remain the 'Suzhou' look.

Suzhou is
famous for its gardens. Back in the Ming and Qing dynasties, wealthy
feudal lords would decorate their gardens into acres of pure pleasure.
These precincts would consist of large Li-fish ponds, rock labyrinths, old-aged
Willow trees, glowing flowers and singing birds. This photo was taken in
the Lion Forest Garden. This garden got its name from its many porous
rocks resembling lions.

rocks of this kind are common in a Suzhou
garden.
We found Tang
Pak Fu's remain after a two-hour hike. To our disappointment, it was
nothing more than a stone tablet with words inscribed. Tang was a famous
poet and painter in ancient China who lived in Suzhou.
