Hong Kong
When: May 1997.
With: Ralph.
Itinerary: Inbound flight to HKG, New territories, HKG Island, Lama Island, Cheung Chau Island, Lantau Island.
Transportation: we used Buses all over, subway, ferry to get to all islands.
Books I had with me: this time I had the official guide of the Hong Kong tuorist association.
A few raccomandations: honestly I was expecting a bit more, I mean the city it self it is quite interesting, but you can easily get a good picture of it in 2 days walking around, very nice are the islands around HKG. Lantai Islands has the biggest Buddha statue in .........I dont remember but believe: ITS HUGE!! The view at night from Kowloon to HGK island is also unbeliveble, a concert of multicolor lights...amyzing. If you are planning to go to Twin Peack , go on a clear day, otherwise I will not see a damn thing!!....one last thing....If you are traveling with a small budget, you will probably not find cheap accomodations, well there is one actually the cheapest you can find in HKG but still quite expensive to backpackers average....Chunking Mansion House on Nathan Road, in this huge building you will find plenty of cheap accomodation....of course bottom end.
Thanks to.......................the Irish girl that was working at the Australian pub in Kowloon....to the three american guys we met in the pub.......to the shoopkeeper in the Nathan Road that sold me two cameras....I believe he left for a big vacation after that!!!
