| There were several interesting aspects of the night life on Grand Canary. First of all, bars and clubs are all located in shopping centers. These are outdoor strip malls with some stores, but mostly bars and restaurants that open late and stay open until 4-6 am. Secondly, there are coin operated scales chained to railings all over town where you can weigh yourself for 50 Euro cents. I can't tell you how many times I have been walking around DC at 3 am wondering how much I weigh. I have no idea why this concept hasn't taken hold in the US. |
