Trigger Point Release

Trigger points are found in muscles that have been damaged due to stress, chill or physical trauma.
For example, they are the "knots" found in the back of the neck or the back.
But trigger points can reside in any muscle from the scalp to the souls of the feet.

Trigger point release is done by first gentle massage, then a search for the primary point.
When the trigger point is found, pressure is applied for 6 to 30 seconds.
This is the usual time it takes for the muscle to release and the point to become non-painful.
A preventative stretch is then usually prescribed.
Science still does not know what a trigger point is,
but we do know what works to deactivate them.
