Stroke Survivors; Traumatic Brain Injured
Initially, Brain Gym was developed for students with learning disabilities. It's slogan is, "movement is the key to learning". But because Brain Gym (Educational Kinesiology) is so successful with school children and scientifically sound, it is now being used in such formats as Switched-on-Golf, to Switched-on-Selling. Cecilia Freeman, M.Ed. has also found success in adapting Brain Gym to children with special needs.
I have moved the Brain Gym principles into the arena of adult/child stroke and traumatic-brain survivors. Because the Brain Gym principles encourages neurological growth at any age and in any situation, it is an effective tool for in-hospital and at-home use.
During my visits, I encourage the caregivers themselves to learn the Brain Gym movements, and use them throughout the day for themselves as well as their loved ones.
While I find the movements to be invaluable, Brain Gym is not intended as a prescription. Please consult your physician. If he/she is not familiar with Brain Gym Educational Kinesiology and its research and would like more information, I would be delighted to discuss Brain Gym via email, phone call or mail.
