Swedish and Shiatsu techniques to aid lymphatic drainage, musculature
circulation and tactile awareness.
- Brain Gym® methodology: A
system of simple movements that enhance whole-brain learning.
The technique works to increase interaction of the right and left
hemispheres of the brain to bring about ease of learning, increased
self awareness and coordination of brain-body functions.
- EDS : Electroencephalographic-driven
stimulation. An advanced computerized form of noninvasive biofeedback
used for difficult cognitive, mood and physical movement problems.
- Healing Touch:
An energy-based therapeutic approach to restoring harmony and
balance in the body's energy system to promote self healing.
- Traditional home care:
Provide custodial care, bathing, range of motion, bowel and bladder
care and general assistance.
TRADITIONAL MEDICAL EXPERIENCE:
Registered Nurse (April 1985 through
1995): Cared for patients
across a broad range of hospital and home care environments including:
cardiac care, intensive care, medical-surgical, same-day surgery
and postpartum, team leadership and supervision of LVNs and aides.
Specialized work included:
- Utilization Review, Alameda County
Utilization Review Board (1988-1989): Determined patients' eligibility
for insurance reimbursements, through chart audits and standards
of practice.
- Nursing Supervisor, Health America,
Albany and Alameda, CA (1986-1987): Supervised nursing staff of
two health care clinics. Scheduled staff, developed protocols
and maintained standards of practice. Reorganized and taught the
"advice line." Initiated a follow-up and tracking system.
- Surgical Floor Nurse, Lettermen
Army Medical Center, San Francisco, CA (1985-1986): Assessed and
intervened for surgical teaching. Provided direct patient care
and supervised soldiers in same.
