| Smugglers Run Time to smuggle some loot in this action packed car extravaganza. Lets start with the face of the game, the graphics, it resembles another PS2 title by the name of Wild Wild Racing in terms of vehicle usage, but that is where the similarities stop. Wild Wild Racing was no more then a simple racing game, Smuggler's Run has a completely different direction in gameplay, anyway enough about Wild Wild Racing. The graphics are amazing, with the draw distance being err... distant, yes no pop up here, basically you can drive where ever you can see, up mountains or through rivers etc. The graphics are really smooth with no glitches to be found anywhere at all. Gameplay modes offer you the main mission and multiplayer or solo fun. The main mission requires you to follow orders to finish jobs, picking up loot and dropping it off somewhere, with each mission being slightly different from the last, for example some missions involve team work, where a group of AI cars help you pick up and deliver the loot it adds a lot of variety to the missions, that can sometimes be a little too samey for my liking. To guide you through these missions (sort of) is a woman's voice, she says some pretty funny (and perhaps offensive to some people) remarks, I won't go too deep in to these remarks, just be warned the game is classified 15. The multiplayer modes offer a load of fun, it can either be every man for themselves or working in teams against each other, personally I prefer every man for themselves as it is the most exciting one. Six AI opponents face you in most of these modes when you are in two player and be warned they ain't stupid. The game does suffer from slowdown when a lot of vehicles are on screen at once, I have seen much worse but still...... Smuggler's Run is quite an original title and very enjoyable, despite suffering from too samey missions and slight slowdown.Hawkeye 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Opinion's Round-Up "My first game on PS2 and boy, I love every inch of it! Difficult missions, ever-expanding levels, gorgeous graphics (for that time) and one hell of a two-player mode. Ever had the need to just drive around with practically no boundaries (flying not inluded), this is the game, or even feel the urge of kicking your friends with a buggy, play this. It's ever so fun." Bart Van Gas "Smuggler's Run is a very original game, but the levels are too samey indeed. Still the need for speed is high and both arcade and multiplayer modes are extremely fun! With no visible pop-up this is one of PS2's early gems, the police and other CPU cars suffer lack of AI, but it doesn't keep the fun away!
