The World Is Not Enough

Bond is back again, this time with a more Goldeneye approach.

Remember the tomorrow never dies game?

Well if you do, youll remember it being in the Syphon Filter series mould, the camera was fixed behind Bond just like Gabe Logan on Syphon Filter, the action was similar, but sadly I think we all prefer looking through Bonds eyes, we all want to feel in the thick of Bonds world. TWINE just does that, YOU ARE BOND, JAMES BOND!

TWINE opens with a spectacular opening sequence, merging film footage and in-game action together, this is set at a fast pace.

If you have seen the TWINE film, the story will be very familiar to you, the developers are geniuses with how they crammed the story in to the game, without putting the whole film on the disc, which would be pointless really, with DVD and all. There is some actual footage as you may already know, but I will make myself clear that it is not the whole film but snippets from it. In game graphics also are used to tell the story, with decent enough acting. The actors are not the actual film actors (apart from R) they have been recruited from talent agencies, Bond, M, Renard, Christmas Jones, Elektra King and Zuvoski all sound like their real life counterparts, and as I said John Cleese who plays R is on board for the game too.

Missions range from shooting helicopters down to the saving of hostages.

The first few missions are quite poor to be honest, the very first level, does not show much promise for the game, the second level is a blast from start to finish, the third is quite boring really, but from then on the missions really start to get going. The casino level contains a really cool poker game, where you have to win enough money to give to Zuvoski. Levels take place in surroundings such as a snowy mountain, a lab and not forgetting the submarine, and a load more besides.

Weapons range from Bonds Walther PPK to big trusty machine guns, rifles oh and how about the gadgets

It would not be a Bond game with out gadgets, so TWINE has made sure of that, and a load of cool gadgets such as the grappling hook watch, credit card lock pick, pen explosive and more, they come in really handy in your missions and make you feel like Bond.

Bond certainly has a licence to kill, just hope Black Ops can keep that licence because they have executed Bond very well, apart from a few serious flaws that knock a couple of points off the final score, but finally a game that stars Bond on PSONE to shout about and applaud, that is until the PS2 instalment that seems to be shaping up very nicely in the early stages.
