Time Crisis 2

Fast paced, fun and simplistic describes a typical arcade title perfectly and Time Crisis 2 is no different but will Namco's shooter keep you coming back for more or will it soon be collecting dust?

The aim of the game is simple: blow away the bad guys and if you see a purple flash come from their guns duck quickly as that is a warning that a bullet is going to rip through your flesh and take away precious health all this has to be done against the clock too.

You can use the Dualshock pad as normal but if you want to make things that little bit more realistic you can instead point a plastic gun at the screen just like in the arcades, this can be bought with TC2 for a decent price.

You can now team up and play through the arcade mode with a friend, relative or whatever for extra fire to show the bad guys that you really mean business but sadly this is far from perfect as the screen is too narrow for it to always be enjoyable and the only way around this is to get a widescreen TV. When playing in the one player mode you are also backed up by the other agent who is little more then an obstacle to avoid as he never seems to hit an enemy, the only reason he seems to be there is just so you have another extra thing to think about as shooting him will lose 1000 of your points

If everyone has abandoned you for some reason, all is not lost as there is a mode where you can use two guns in the style of a John woo movie, so theres still use for the other Gcon if something like that were to happen.

TC2 can be completed in about twenty minutes that is just far too short for the asking price but at least after completion you are rewarded with a mini game, which will probably take you longer to complete then the actual game, as some of the missions are pretty tricky. Some old Namco arcade games also are on offer for you to play.

Too short but good fun while it lasts but I certainly don't recommend buying it, a rental seems to make more sense, so do that and have a short burst of fast paced action,

"Finally the sequel comes to the home, with double the impact this time, as it is possible for another player to help you through the action, still keeping the stuff that makes it Time Crisis in, such as the abillity to duck and then shoot, exciting but not a game that will last long, and you'll soon tire of it" Chris Wigham
