| Street Fighter Alpha 3 Capcom aren't renowned for making loads of new game ideas instead, they take your well earned gold with releasing lots of installments of one game, good examples include Megaman, Capcom Generation and most importantly of all the Street Fighter series which has literally spawned a mega amount of spin offs including the Alpha series, which is what I am here to talk about. Well Ryu and Ken are still there, M. Bison is still the villain and best of all its still over the top streetfighting, Alpha 3 also sees the return of many street fighter favourites who took a break in the dull 3D versions characters who are back for more include Blanka, E.Honda and many other of your old friends. 31 Characters are in there, certainly a lot but unfortunately a lot of them are just carbon copies of one another, but still there is plenty of characters with individual moves for you to master and keep you playing. Four of those characters are secret and to unlock them you have to play the world tour mode which is basically set tasks against warriors from all around the world. One of the great things about this game is the excellent eye catching arcade style presentation, the loading times may not be perfect but at least you get artwork while your waiting. The actual fighting is fast and furious, and things such as being able to roll under your opponents legs when knocked from the sky makes thing a bit more tactical and you can even use the the scenes to your advantage with gaining height allowing you to have extra time to avoid your opponents moves. Not a spectacular game by any means but still fun for your collection, but with next generation fighting games such as Dead or alive 2 around a lot of the charm is spoilt.Simon Wigham 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 |
