ROLLCAGE STAGE 2
So youre on your way down to the cheese market to buy some beef in your apple green mini.  Off you trundle trundle trundle when all of a sudden out of nowhere a machine the size of a tank rockets past you at 700mph hotly pursued by another similar machine, which happens to be launching Miniature Missiles! Ah well I never did like my Mini time to trade it in for Rollcage Stage II.

So yes Rollcage is a futuristic racer and yes it is made by Psygnosis and yes it gravity defying, but no it is not WipEout Rollcage has a very different feel to WipEout in particular the idea of driving on the ceiling is somewhat of a new concept (well to the less adventurous of us!) and the control system is quite different, but what really makes it difference is that the focus is no longer on single player mission its once more time to open that dusty book the one labelled address!  Yes that is right Rollcage is just pouring from the seams with multiplayer fun ranging from the normal race and combat modes to the more bizarre such as the pursuit mode where you have to catch up with your opponent and the excellent rubble soccer in which you get to play out that boyhood dream of playing football with the biggest cars you are ever to get your joy pad attached to!

But fear not there will also be the chance to play on to the wee small hours of the night as the single player has been far from ignored, with the first few tracks being very easy but with the game play gradually getting harder and harder. Of course there are all the old favourites such as single race, time trial and championship modes all combined with a large wardrobe of cars, each coming with three different colour schemes for you fashion gurus, that simply must match those shoes with those 10 foot death machines!

Technically this game checks out with no major faults to speak of and the designers have thought of some pretty cool weapons and track ideas and created one of the best multiplayer games ever made.

It is a shame then that Stage 2 has sold tremendously poorly why this is we dont know unless it has anything to do with hedgehogs scared of drivers becoming speed freaks but there is no denying that when compared to the latest WipEouts this reviewer cant help but think it has something to do with the only reasonable visuals, but this does not stop the game from making you want to Drive that little bit faster and make those hedgehogs run!
