Now to the zombies, most of the rooms contain at least four to dispose of, and sometimes even more, but I think this is the game of the series that has the most walking dead, you rarely ever get a break, that is why the knife comes in handy, when possible it must be used, to save yourself some valuable ammo, although much later on things start getting better and you can feel more at ease, but this is where the knife is most effective, it has never been so useful. As you may already know, ammo is kind of scarce for a lot of the game, and this is a first for the series since the original. The gore has been toned down a lot, but not quite enough to make it non-existent, because that would take a lot of toning down for this series, you can't remove their decaying heads with gun-blasts anymore, legs or hands don't come loose, shame, but never mind. I might as well mention the chill-factor in this paragraph, some parts make you jump, but it soon starts to get so predictable, that you wonder why Capcom have made it this way, any corpse you see will turn in to a zombie rather soon or sometime later on in the game, while picking up items will normally make some type of creature active, through a window etc, it's too predictable in a development plan that was meant to scare the living daylights out of you, sadly not the case!

While on the important lifespan issue, after completion you get the glorious battle mode in which you can get to play as Wesker, why does he need the knife though? Battle Mode is simply a get from A-B mini game, where each character faces a boss at the end, use this for training, fun or how about the first person view mode that it can be played in. The Devil May Cry demo is also a great bonus to receive!

By far the best plot, by far the best graphics, by far the best feeling and by far the best Resident Evil yet, it took me 15 hours to complete on my first go, and a Resident Evil game has never had that amount of time to completion, wow, what a game, oh I nearly forgot to mention this, the number of locations you go to, are the most yet seen on any of the games. Shame it couldn't have warranted the X mark a little more, a couple of cut-scenes are not enough!

Opinions Round-Up

"The biggest and best Resident Evil yet! and the most challengeing since the original. Breathtaking 3D graphics, fine camera angles with a superb story to top it all off, with the return of Wesker who is now one of the coolest bad guys around in my opinion. A gaming masterpeice which will satisfy many." Simon Wigham
