RESIDENT EVIL 3 NEMESIS
RE3: Nemesis is the third and possibly final instalment in one of the most popular 3D adventures on the playstation.

RE3 has it's excellent trademark opening sequence to set the story which lasts at least two minutes. The menu is straightforward, simply choose your favourite controls and difficulty level then it's on with the game...

Again Racoon city has been infested with zombies although this time round you play a female STARS member by the name of Jill Valentine who has to battle through defeating anything in her way. Pretty much all the locations in the game are newly designed and haven't been seen before which is pleasing.

The action in the game is non-stop from start to finish, even when you take your first step there are loads of zombies waiting to devour you. There are tons of monsters to kill including spiders, giant slugs, crows and of course that darn Nemesis himself, at least 9ft tall and muscles that would make any bouncer look weak. Basically the Nemesis follows you all through the game and he will often block your tracks forcing you to take him on and kill him or so you think till he comes back next time for more, most irritating.

During your adventure you'll meet up with three men from Umbrella, one is already badly injured on a train, one is acting suspiciously and the other Carlos, assists you along the way, in fact you take control of him later on in the game when Jill gets infected with a virus.

The graphics in RE3 are almost faultless, they are crisp and clear and there is no break-up in the movement on screen.

The sound effects are creepy and create a very good eerie atmosphere.

A welcome new option in this game is the ability to mix both ammunition and herb plant items together to create more effective mixtures.

The gameplay as always is easy for everyone, one button for map, one for aiming and one for shooting etc. Also on a few occasions in the game you will be presented with a choice of two options on the screen and you must act quickly and appropriately to get out of trouble, a very nice touch. A negative part of this game however is the fact that it is considerably shorter than RE2 and it can be completed in only a few hours, this was quite a big let-down.

There is no doubt that RE3 features a decent mix of adventure, shooting and puzzles making this an impressive third person game for any fan of the genre, a fine effort from Capcom.
