| RC REVENGE |
| Remember Re-volt, that appalling micro-machine type racer released by Acclaim 18 months ago? Well this is the second release. RC revenge has all the expected features from a mini racer: cartoon-type vehicles and tracks, loads of power-ups and cool surroundings. There are three basic modes in the game, practice, Time-trial and tournament. There are plenty of different tracks in the game, many of which are fun to race on including space world and monster world. Not only this but you can also build your own tracks which is really pleasing. You also have the option of placing various hazards on the track making for a very interesting race especially in 2-player mode. During the races there are some good weapon power-ups to collect although most have been seen before in other similar games. What I also like is that on each level there is always something happening off the track in the background which brings more fun into the game. RC revenge is a pretty decent racer but it lacks something special that really makes you want to play the game again. The cars are not exactly spectacular and the overall graphics are just bordering on average. The cars also dont handle anywhere near as nicely as those found in micro-machines V3 which is a shame as this game could have been a real hit, but at least its better than Re-volt! 6/10 |
