| The controls are perfect but at first they can be rather hard to get used to, but within an hour you should be shoot-diving and dodging bullets as skilfully as Chow Yun Fat and I recommend first time players to stick with the auto-aiming feature as if attempted with out its assistance you'll find yourself being blowing to bits countless times while you try desperately to move that pesky crosshair onto an enemy, after you feel completely comfortable with the controls that is when you should turn the feature off, you'll find that the game is much more fun and challenging when you have to aim manually. It's just a shame that Max was first released on the PC as if it hadn't been there wouldn't have been a superior version to compare it to, but unfortunately there is and hearing about it will make people think of how fantastic bullet time could and should have been. But still Max Payne has everything that I want in an action title: lots of cool guns, blood, slow motion action and a Chow Yun Fat-like character, sounds like a John Woo movie doesn't it? One of the best action games on the PS2 yet! Obviously inspired by the worlds best action director. These downers don't destroy the main concept, and that is loads of guns and a hell of a lot of slow motion. I totally disagree with Simon's view on the plot, the comic book style, is a stylish and original way to tell a story, and I also thought the plot was good throughout, twisting and turning when you least expect it, oh and a extremly high bodie count!"
