Mission Impossible 2

Tom Cruise returns again as Ethan Hunt, in this top class espionage/action thriller. Cruise has quite an intresting character which makes Bond look a little dated, he has got a lot of new touches in his character to reinvent the American hero, such as being less serious, with a big grin on his face all the time. While Thandie Newton stars as Nyah, a global thief and Cruise's love intrest, the chemistry between these two make up a lot of the story, and add a lot more drama to the plot. Dougary Scot plays the bad guy known as Sean Ambrose, with a plan to use a killer virus to make money, Nyah is used to find out about his plans as they both used to be lovers. The actual film starts out a little slow, but the plot keeps it intresting. When the action does eventually come, it is in Woo's usual two gun blasts and cleverly choreographed action scenes, it contains a spectacular motorcycle chase set in slow motion, and amazingly Tom Cruise did all of his own stunts. MI2 is a masterpiece apart from the slightly slow first hour but as I said the plot keeps you watching.
