| Opinions Round-Up "Want to live life in the fast-lane or better still, the crime-lane, then GTA3 is certainly for you. Push a car down a steep bank and watch it roll over in real-spectacular fashion, and then catch fire, thats just one of my fave moments I experienced on this mammoth game. I must mention the radar that replaces the familiar arrow of the rest of the series, I was so worried when I saw that the game lacked the arrow, but DMA have done a job in all areas, and the radar is certainly easy to use. If you liked the rest of the series or was put off by the top-down views, then this game should please a lot of frustrated brutes, I better not say that, ok in the virtual world!" Chris Wigham "Truly th best game on PS2, even on every other console. The thrill of cops chasing you has never been greater, cars are begging to be stolen, hookers looking for a little companionship, the people too ignorant to know what's going on, and a lot more. This game truly is a city that lives; you know that 10 blocks from you an old lady is fighting for her handbag, that the police is patrolling to maintain the safety on the streets in Liberty City, not that it is any good. Nothing is more satisfying to drive over Trial warlords when the radio is playing classical music. There are no words for this game. There is something of every game in the world put in GTA3, if it is stealth from MGS, if it is 'shoot to kill' from Quake, it is there. Rockstar has crafted a very fine piece of software, no one could have done it better. Graphics are top of the notch, physics are the best and the longetivity of this game will keep many of us playing for weeks, even months. A gem all the way." Bart Van Gas "The original GTA was a game that put the gameplay ahead of the graphics, yeah it was ugly alright but it was still one of the best games I have ever played and now DMA have turned the world of GTA into 3D allowing the graphics to finally catch up with the gameplay but thankfully not overshadowing it. It still plays like the original but this time with a more detailed storyline and all the things that weren't possible on the previous generation. Its certainly one of the best games available on PS2 at the moment and a must have for fans of the original" Simon Wigham |
