Caldera Inc. bought the Server Division of SCO in May of 2001.
From February 2000 to present, Lead Kernel Engineer and Architect for the Linux Kernel Personality (LKP) for Unix.
LKP is a Unix subsystem that allows a Unix platform to run Linux binaries unmodified.
Responsible for architecting the product, and implementing Linux interfaces in the Unix kernel for shared memory and IPC, sockets, process tracing, file I/O, pseudo-ttys, and more. Handled both implementation and performance constraints.
Succeeded in enabling Linux application suites such as StarOffice, Netscape, KDE, Oracle 9i, DB2, Java, and gdb and strace to run on Unix.
Took LKP from inception to completion, fully integrating and productizing it into Caldera's Unix.
Worked with support and customer services through two LKP beta programs, and resolved multiple major customer issues.
Speaker on LKP internals at Caldera Forum 2001.
LKP shipped with the Caldera OpenUNIX 8 product in June of 2001, and was by far the major new feature in this release of Unix.
The technology was well received by the press, reviewers, partners, and major Unix customers.
Benchmarks show Linux processes run 2.5 times faster on a 4-way Unix system with LKP, than on the same system running Linux.

Lead Engineer for the SCO Internet products group, at one time 12 engineers.
Ported the full range of Netscape Web servers and Web browsers to the SCO Unix platform. This included work with the embedded JVMs.
Ported, built, packaged, and tested the Apache Web server, and the Squid proxy server, to the SCO Unix platform.
Designed and implemented, in Java, an object-oriented GUI for administering Unix Web servers.
