Panda is currently active in agility and is retired from flyball. Panda ran with the No Speed Limit flyball team. He became only the 14th Australian Shepherd (first dog of any breed in the new Region 15) to earn the Flyball Grand Champion title on December 7, 2002. We have twice been honored to help represent our team in the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge in St. Petersburg, FL. In 1999, we finished in third place (against teams seeded 2 or more seconds faster than us) and in January, 2000 we placed second to the team which just set a new US record for a regular division team!

Panda is Simon's nephew. Many people mistake him for a black-tri but he really is a blue merle.

On the agility front, we compete in USDAA, AKC, and (sometimes) NADAC. Panda started his agility career in 1995 and he earned his Agility Dog Champion (ADCH) title in May '99. Until 2004, Panda was on a Dog Agility Masters (DAM) team known as "Teetering On The Edge". Our teammates were Rosie and her border collie Tod, and Sue and her Aussie Blu. We competed as a team for several years and always had fun, whether we do well or not. "Teetering" placed in quite a few tournaments and won the 2002 tournament hosted by PLAY. Panda has qualified for the USDAA Nationals every year we have attempted it. We competed in the Nationals the 3 years it was in Cleveland and then travelled to TX for the Veterans Championship in 2002. He has also qualified for the National Steeplechase Semi-Finals each year.

Also in 2000, Panda once again made a foray into ASCA competition. Below are pictures of him with his brand new buddy Donny of Hattrick Australian Shepherds at the Mid-Atlantic Australian Shepherd Club's show on 6/3/2000. While he didn't win his class, he had a good time doing some male bonding :-). This was after he'd earned his first ASCA CDX leg with a second place earlier in the day.
