The results were 1,146 votes, or 62 percent against, to 705 votes, or 38 percent for the issue. "We've closed five elementary schools, we've increased class sizes, we've cut administrative positions, we've cut dos pueblos high school athletic positions," said TCAPS Chief Financial Officer Paul Soma, The funding finalized by the Governor today would give districts up to $112 per student. But Paul Soma, TCAPS Chief Financial Officer says the money may be too little too late. "It's still an increase and we're appreciative of that, but at the same time that small revenue increase of about one percent or so is eaten up very quickly," said Soma.
