General Electric Global Exchange Services                        2000 - 2001

Technical Manager - Internal consultant in B2B implementation processes. Program manager.

·         Program managed cross-functional teams in large, B2B e-Commerce implementations, across client and GE organizations.  Mission critical, high transaction rates.  Significant contract management.

·         Developed new policies using GE's Six Sigma methodology and procedures for the delivery of e-Commerce solutions establishing project management office (PMO).  Developed management tools.

·         Developed pricing models for new products and services.  Supported sales efforts to C-level prospects.

·         Automated client supply chains, reducing their indirect costs by up to 40%.

Erickson Retirement Communities                        1999 - 2000

Director of Community Operations Systems (Acting) - Consolidate or replace various legacy systems while reducing head-count during one year consulting engagement.

·         Participated in the selection of an ERP system (JD Edwards) to replace over twenty legacy systems.  Directed efforts integrate JDE with other systems (point of sale, ADT, Siebel, etc.), define and implement security plan and convert data from legacy systems.

·         Provided technical direction of strategies for e-Commerce, enterprise application integration, middle-ware implementation and the development of a master person index.

·         Assisted the CIO in planning and executing a complete reorganization of the IS department and replacement of existing systems.  Managed relationships between the IS department and senior executives in various lines of business.

·         Directed the efforts of five business analysts and developers to support operation systems for an approximately $700M developer of retirement communities.

·         Selected and installed a new point of sale system for 15 restaurants operated by Erickson Retirement Communities at their five locations.  Developed standards for hardware and software.

Micro Modeling Associates, Bethesda, MD                        1998 - 1999

Managing Associate - Provide leadership and PM expertise to custom software company.

·         E-Commerce/Web products. Technologies included ASP, DHTML, MTS, IIS and SQL Server.

-         Developed marketing extranet proposal for delivery to a high profile client.  Defined content and site map, worked with graphic artists and copywriters to achieve appealing and informative presentation.

-         Provided PM technical support on large human resources outsourcing project using extranet as a product for an e-Commerce start-up.

-         Managed development of web-based solutions including time tracking interface to a legacy accounting package. 

-         Participated in proposal writing, sales presentation and cost estimations for these and other e-Commerce projects.

·         Directed design stage for a large, NT platform, real-time solution to monitor stock market transactions for unusual events.  Tools included Visio, VB, C++, DCOM, MTS, MFC, MSMQ, SQL Server, SNMP and Rational Rose, Siebel.  This was a mission critical, 4 billion-transactions/day application.

-         Interfaced with client project manager and senior executives to manage expectations.

-         Coordinated the efforts of approximately 35 architects, programmers, and database managers.

·         Led high visibility efforts to re-engineer internal project management information system.

-         Surveyed market to determine best of breed. Developed vendor-rating system for COTS software.

-         Controlled full life cycle development of a commercial software package from requirement identification, GUI design and database schema, code generation, site map and implementation.
