John Westlock is from Martin Chuzzlewit, a Charles Dickens miniseries. He does look an awful lot like our dear Doc, doesn't he? John is an architect, or he TRAINED to be one before leaving the apprenticeship of Mr. Pecksneff. I do not know if he learned enough to carry on a career, but I do know he came into a bit of money and was quite comfortable as a gentleman of means.

Tom Wilkinson, who was in A Very Open Prison with Peter (which, strangely, is NOT on the Internet Data base), is in this as Pecksneff. Rather a lot of others I like, as well, including Pete Postlethwaite, who was in a few Sharpes, as you might know! Also, Julian Fellows was in this, and AVOP, Sharpe and Monarch of the Glen! Recently got an Oscar for writing "Gosford Park", he is definitely one of my favorites (he is just about everywhere!)

Martin Chuzzlewit was also done on the radio, with our own Valentine Pelka as Martin! Tapes of those do exist.
