Of course some are yet to be replaced. Here is a friends electric glider sitting on a glider release mechanism on his greenly. This is a very efficient glider and will take advantage of any thermal activity it finds. We have many extended thermal flights with this including one of nearly an hour. |

Here is another friends electric glider this was used to take the Nottingham Racecourse pictures with small digital camera (see ariel pictures page). This Is capable of long thermal flights or can be used as a slope soarer. |

Electric flight is improving, with the advent of lithium batterys very light aerobatic planes are possible. Above is a friends Edge Shock Flyer which now gives even better performance after replacing the motor with a typhoon brushless motor. It is powered with a 600mah 3s lithium pack, uses saturn feather weight servos (s62 for ailerons s54 for elevator and rudder), a Tasumi 10A speed controller and a jeti micro 5 channel Rx. |

Left is a friend Ailienator, fast and well overpowered with a brushless motor and li poly batteries. great fun to fly once you are used to the rather odd shape and orientation. |

Above a depron sukoi su27 powered by 2 ducted fans and 300 brushed motors, looks nice but dosn't fly that well, the undercariage was useless and taken off unfortunately this had the side effect of damaging the air intakes on landing which had to be strengthened. |

Left are 2 scale models a pilatus porter and a mustand both powered by brushless motors and lipo batteries. |

Left is a Protech alpha 180 origonally designed for a brushed motor and nicads, flies very nicely with a brushless motor, 1500 or 1250 3 cell lipo and a 9*6 folding prop at 10.8571428571429 ounce / sqare foot wing loading with the 1500 battery, thermals well flights of about 20 mins are possible with no lift. The longest flight to date is about 30 mins. |

Left is a brushless motor powered glider running on 3 cell lipo packs. Very powerful a few seconds vertical climb is all thats required to get to a height to go searching for thermals. |

Above is a multiplex easy star a pusher foamy plane, makes a good camera carrying plane as there is no propellor to look through looking forward. |

Right is a 1420mm span Czech artf high wing trainer type plane using a axi 2802/24 and hs 81 servos. Flies very nicely. |
