Can I/my family afford to have a baby? Think both in terms of the strain that caring for the baby will cause, and the cost of taking care of the child's needs when it has grown. And, Do I really want a child? It's one more Sim to care for, can you handle it?

Adoption

Occasionally the phone will ring and the caller will offer you a baby by adoption. Should you choose yes, a baby cradle will appear, you'll be told the gender of the child, and be asked to choose a name.

The Love Bed (Livin' Large Required)

The odds of having a baby after Sims have "played" in the Love Bed are very good. Make sure both Sims are in a good mood then have one choose "Vibrate" from the bed's pie menu. Wait till that Sim in in bed, then choose "Play in Bed" from the pie menu for the other Sim. **Warning** You will not be prompted as to whether or not you want a baby after playing in the Love Bed, the baby will just appear and you'll need to give it a name. Definitely some realism happening here *smiles*

Family Planning *cough*

Have your male and female Sims that are "in love" kiss and hug constantly. Eventually one Sim will ask the other if they should have a baby. If you choose yes, a baby cradle will appear.
