| HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED? Have you ever wondered where our Christmas traditions come from? Who was the first to come up with a Christmas tree or a Yule Log? Who were the first people to go out on a cold winter's night door to door singing carols? Where in the world did Egg Nog come from? What about a Christmas ham and mistletoe? HEY YOUR ROOTS ARE SHOWING Who would ever think these seemingly innocent traditions could come from such a dark and deadly history as the ancient pagan world before the time of Christ. A time when people sacrificed their own children to the gods? Christmas, very close to the way it is celebrated today, was celebrated long before Yahshua was even born. How can that be if it is a celebration of the birth of our saviour? I hear good Christian people say every year that they wished Christmas could be celebrated they way it used to be and the way it was meant to be. I will tell you right now that it is celebrated almost exactly the way it was in the beginning. Today, we are faithful to the real meaning of Christmas as it was celebrated in the beginning and our pagan fathers and mothers would be proud. IS IT REALLY DANGEROUS? In Deut 12:29-32, we are warned about seeing the customs and religious practices of those who worship other gods and desiring to do as they do. We are even warned about taking their practices and traditions and using them in our worship of the one true Creator of the universe, Yahweh. The Almighty gave Moses 5 books worth of instruction on how HE wants to be served and worshiped and we are warned not to add or take away from those instructions. Why is He such a stickler for details and why won't He just lighten up a little and let us have our pagan influenced fun as long as we do it in His name? Why is it wrong to take pagan things and recreate them to bring glory to Yahweh? There are several reasons. THE REASONS-THE LAWS OF CAUSE AND EFFECT I Just as in the physical universe, there are laws such as the law of gravity and physics which have repercussions, there are also spiritual laws that have a real effect on many different levels, many of which we cannot see. At this time, we are looking through a dark glass and can't see all of the repercussions of our actions in both the physical and spiritual world. But Yahweh can see the effect our actions have on ourselves and others. Therefore, our Loving Father has set guidlines and has given us instrucions so that we don't harm ourselves or others. These are for our own good because He created us and He knows the dangers that are out there. Dangers we have no idea of but He knows what is best for us. It's much like when you tell your child not to touch a hot stove. The child has no idea why he should not touch it and may even think you are being unfair, but you do know the consequenses of his actions, so you tell him no. Would we expect our Father in Heaven to be any less loving. THE REAL SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS II Another one of the consequenses of us following pagans in their traditions, even if we do it supposedly to the "glory of God" is we end up becoming more and more like them in all aspects of our lives and we unknowingly invite satan in and we let satan have more and more control over our lives. Don't think that would happen? How else do you explain the sin and true horrors that surround Christmas? More people commit suicide on this day then any other day of the year. Murder and other crimes go up. Husbands cheat on their wives at office Christmas parties and wives do the same. Families fight more on this day, people get drunk and kill others on the road. Think this only happens out side of the church? Think agian. Christians are in no way immune to the real spirit of Christmas which is satan. Don't think these traditions come from satan? Who do you think the pagans were honoring in their worship and traditions? Ask yourself, who is the author of these traditions if they were originated to worship satan? Do you really want to walk in ways that satan invented to bring glory to himself instead of the one and true Yahweh? TELL ME LIES, TELL ME SWEET LITTLE LIES #3 The traditions of Christmas are flat out lies. Satan is the father of lies. What do the children of Truth have to do with lies? Wondering what the lies of Christmas are? Lets start with the date. There is no way Yahshua was born on December 25th. That date was the birthday of many a pagan god, all of who existed before the birth of Yahshua. Ever been told we can't know when Yahshua was born? That again is a flat out lie. A close sudy of scripture tells of a birth around the time of the Feast of Booths in the fall. What about the manger sceen with all the little farm animals and the holy family with halos around their heads? Again, it just not true. In Hebrew the word for manger is the same as the word for booth (sukkah). It is much more likely he was born in a booth (sukkah) seeing as He was born during Sukkot, the Feast of Booths. The Wise men bringing gifts to a newborn babe in a manger? Lie. There were no wise men there at the time of His birth contrary to any manger scene you will ever see. They didnt show up until much much later. Remember... King Herod had all boys 2 years old and under killed according to the exact time he had been given by the wise men. Yahshua was 2 years old at the time of that decree. While these may seem to be just semantics and little details to you, that does not take away from the fact that they are lies and come from the father of lies who is satan and are used to replace and add to the word of Yahweh. OH WHAT'S THE HARM, IT JUST A LITTLE LIE? It is a sin to add to the commands of Yahweh Deut 12:32. We are to have NO part in lies. We are to put on the new man who is created in the image of Yahweh in holiness and righteousness and TRUTH Eph 4:24. We are to put away falsehood and speak TRUTH Eph 4:25. What can be the harm in Santa Claus? Why, if Yahshua is the way the TRUTH and life, do we want to indoctrinate our children with lies. Why would we expect our children to believe us with the bigger things of life like the existance of Yahweh, morality and the salvation that comes from Yahshua, when we have spent their whole childhood telling them lies about the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa? Why, if we really love our children, do we want to put them through the humiliation and feeling of betrayal that come from being lied to and finally being told that their parents, who they love and trust, lied to them all these years. And again, why do we want to follow in the tradition of satan who is the father of lies? John 14:6 Yahshua is the way the truth and the life and no man ma:y come to the Father but by Him. How can we expect to come to Him at Christmas time if we are walking in all of these lies? |
