As I have stated else where on this site, lions as a whole, are not in much danger of disappearing. However, this is not true of the lion's close relative, the tiger. The tiger's continued existence in the wild is in serious trouble. Jack Hannah has stated on a visit to the Maury (Povich) Show that was broadcasted on November 22, 2001, that at the present rate of decline, the tiger could be gone in the wild by the year 2015. Many other wild cats are also facing extinction. This has invoked in me a new fear. If the tiger can go extinct without having much help from man, in the future, the lion could face the same fate. I now spend a great deal of my online time doing my best to protect the tiger. It is important that we all do what we can to protect not only one's favorite animal, but all of nature.
