Tips for Growing Vegetables
Growing Vegetables can be a great means of making lots of money, but it’s very time consuming and there are lots of things that can go wrong.

The First thing to say is that growing vegetable will take a lot of time, just weeding one patch of veggies will take about 20 minutes, plus watering and then if you have several crops you will find your Sim will have very little spare time.

Weeding is very important if you want your crops to be at their maximum, plus if you leave the weeds to grow, they will kill your plant. Apart from Weeding the only other maintenance your crop will need is watering. This can be done by your Sim or by the gardener, and if you are lucky your pets can water the garden for you unprompted.

Growing Tomatoes and Beans mean the plants continually produce crops, where as carrots and lettuce only produce one crop. Therefore it is more cost effective to grow Tomatoes and Beans over a long period of time.

Once you have harvested your crops you have two options, one, you put your crops in to your pantry and use the produce to cook with. This will save you money, as you will not need to buy food from the fridge. Your other option is to take your food to old town and sell it at the farmers market. Around 100 vegetables could earn over 500 Simoleans. With 4 vegetable plots you could grow that number of vegetable in around 10 days.

One of the major problems you will face in growing vegetables is from pests. There are ways to control pests, which include buying cats and dogs. Other ways are to scare away pests include; Scarecrows, gnomes and the windmill.

Growing Vegetables can be a great money earner for a Sim who’s just starting their career.
