For those racers that don't have the luxuary of pentium power, 3dfx cards and other such wizzbangery, then the N1 tourers are a must have. This great piece of work from the patchmakers, Jan Kohl and Michel Lees from the US Pits and Late Apex respectivly, is available from the US Pits and Late Apex respectivly. Enjoy this terrific contribution from NWST-TC racer Alex Albert and if you like these screen shots, be sure to read about the league from director Scott Williams. You take the wheel Alex.. "These are photos of 2 test sessions held by the NWST-TC, the photos were taken by a unidentified member of the Ellis Team Impala crew. The photos are being released through driver Alex Albert. All Ellis Team Impala Drivers were present but none were available for comment. Although, Scotty Williams director of the league went on for 10 minutes on how Alpha Omega Motorsports is going to come back and beat Ellis Team Impala in the team points".
A note from NWST-TC Director Scott Williams "1998 was an exciting year with the introduction of Touring Car racing. Within minutes of the patch being released, the Net's first sanctioned N1 Touring Car league had sprung into action and was signing drivers. The league took off. Initially called the Canadian Thunder Touring Car Series (CTTCS) the league soon became a joint member of the NWST, aka the NorthWest Simulation Tour. The season opened with many new faces, some young and some old took to the action. As you can see, the touring cars are fast and furious. Frequently cars would retire due to damage or other body harm. Perhaps the best moment of the Touring Car season came when the smoke settled, and we had declared our champions. Jamie Walker or Tyaab Motorsport became the first GT Champion, while Mike Spinelli of nWo Motorsports took the GTS Honours. Ryan Anderson, in the minds of many to be the best road course driver, took the leagues mid season championship, destroying the top drivers in all 3 races of the World Cup. With a successful season of N1 tin-top racing, the NWST-TC looks to move on. I thank all those who made the Touring cars possible, Jan Kohl & the patch team, Chas Bornemann of SCW for getting the questions I needed answered fast, Dave O Brien & Adam Hawkins of the NWST for their hospitality and Tim Wortman of NASS '98 for the scoring software. As the NWST moves on into the future for '99 we undergo significant changes. The league has a new look available at http://www.nwstracing.com, some new leagues, and most importantly, the same place to spend your weekends, and enjoy our sport. I thank all those who participated in the series, and those who stuck be me. One of the best things about running the league was the sense of team work and more. From Alpha Omega Motorsports under the direction of Gary Kendall, Ellis Team Impala under JD Ellis and Nichols Racing under Greg & Paul Nichols (the youngest driver in the series) it was an honour to direct such a great group of guys - So to you I tip my hat in the frozen grounds of Canada, and I welcome you all back to another exciting year of racing - Welcome home to the NWST Sincerely, Scott Williams - 1998 NWST Touring Car Champion Director" |
