Dream Waker

In a forest of the night do I find myself
As trees rasp from wind above
And leaves are carried upon the lightest of touches

Stars flicker beneath whispered clouds
And set in halo between,
The Moon's glowing arms reach out to envelope that which stands in the dark
Setting alight everything which stands before me

I realize no animals are to be found,
As ghostly feelings shiver my spine
For suddenly I'm made aware of the skeletons which stand dispersed among trees
I become caught in suddenly shifting paragram
like the worlds themselves no longer mix as one
Illusion and non-illusion are made irrelevant
As my perception is obliterated and I can no longer force distinction between the two

What's real and what's seen-as-real become the same thing
And in material am I lost to find myself
Wondering why I don't just fall into my own world,
A better place than any I've found
