Pain reflected on pain
where emotions lie
fear of others discovering
anxiety of detection
why must I run?
where do I run to?
pain has taken over
its all around
its the air I breathe
its the blood in my veins
its my heart that beats
there is no escaping
its everywhere
I shove it away
only to find it still waiting for me when i turn around
no where to hide
no one who cares
nothing to do
this is what it is to be damned
salvation like sand slipping through your fingers
happiness has been denied
loneliness encircles me
the sun has set
darkness encircles all around
soon pain will be all there is
no thought
no joy
no hope
only sorrow
winds brush past
as resistance against the darkness rises
and the struggle with pain
my own inner light comes forth
my last stand
my fight to stay me
I fall to my knees
my last strength leaving me
and suddenly the darkness flees
the winds die and take with them the pain
happiness descends
and the flame of life burns once more
