Case #2: Missing Music?
Question: What is the difference between the American soundtrack
for Sonic Adventure 2 and the Japanese soundtrack?
There are two CDs of Sonic Adventure 2 music that were released in Japan.
One album is the vocal collection,
which contains the vocal songs of all of the characters, the main theme, and
the music to Sonic’s first stage (City Escape). The vocal album also
includes instrumental versions of the previously mentioned songs. For
the sake of reporting the missing songs, I have decided not to include the
instrumental versions. If you’d like to know the final count, just add
8 to represent the instrumental songs that I did not include in counting the
left-out songs.
The second CD is the original soundtrack.
This contains all of the music from the Sonic Adventure 2 game. There
are so many songs that there are two CDs: the hero side and the dark
side. The U.S. CD did not include a lot of songs from this album, so
I have listed the tracks that are missing.
And now, without further ado, I present the list of songs that were not
included in the U.S. Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack.

Yes, that’s right; there are 40 songs that are missing from the
U.S. Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack. (48 if you include the instrumental
versions that were left out from the vocal album.) Hopefully future
versions of U.S. soundtracks will have the entire soundtrack!
