When Sonic Met Alex

     Sonic has been kidnapped by Dr. Robotnik, who has him locked up in a jail cell.
     “Sonic, I said I wanted you to go to Earth for me weeks ago. But did you? NO!”
     “Shut up, Blubber Butt!” muttered Sonic.
     “What?” Robotnik asked.
     “I said, um... Sure, I’ll go to Earth for you!”
     “That’s what I thought you said,” yelled Robotnik.

     When Sonic got to Earth, there were people all around, and he was very lost. A girl walked by.
     “Where am I?” Sonic asked her.
     “You’re in Chicago.” the girl said. “By the way, I’m Alexis, but you can call me Alex.”
     “Hey, Alex, I’m Sonic.”
     “Hi, Sonic. These are my cousins, Sam and Braden, and these are my friends, Morgan and
Steven.”
     “Hey guys, I think I’ll talk to Alex for awhile.”
     Later……
     Alex and Sonic were walking toward an apartment that seemed to be Alex’s when... Sonic saw a
red blur out of the corner of his eye.
     “Could I get directions to……” the thing said. “Sonic, is that you?”
     The voice sounded vaguely familiar to Sonic.
     “Knuckles!” Sonic yelled.
     “Hey, you wanna come in?” Alex asked Knuckles and Sonic.
     Sonic, Knuckles, and Alex went into the apartment. Sonic fell asleep as soon as he got into
the guest room. As soon as Sonic awoke, Alex walked into the room.
     “Hey, Sonic. Did you sleep OK?” she asked.
     “Yeah,” he said.
     “Do you want to go to Morgan’s house with me later for lunch?” she said, “You can talk to
Steven. He’s pretty cool!”
     “Yeah, whatever.” he said.
     When they got there…
     “Hey, Sonic!!!!” Steven yelled, “Come here. I have something cool to show you!”
     “Be right there!” Sonic yelled back.
     “LOOK!” Steven screamed, pointing at a stink bug.
     “What’s so cool about a stink bug?” Sonic asked.
     “It’s not a stink bug! It’s the Hulk in bug form. See, look at him crawl with that crumb on
his back!! He’s really strong!” Steven said. 
     Later…
     “Hey, Sonic. Did you have fun with Steven?” Alex asked.
     “Yes.”
     “Good I'm spending the night with Morgan tomorrow. You can come too.”
     “OK,” he said. 
     The next night……
     “Truth or Dare, Sonic?” Steven asked.
     “Dare,” he replied.
     “I dare you to get up and sing and dance to Barbie Girl.”
     “OK, Fine!” Sonic began singing, “I’m a Barbie Girl….” But he stopped when he heard a loud,
“SONIC!!!” Uh oh, he thought, AMY!!
     Just then, Amy walked into the room……
     “SONIC, WAKE UP!!!” Amy yelled.
     Sonic opened his eyes and there he was, still in the jail cell.
     “Sonic, you were just having a bad dream.” she said.
     “But it wasn’t a bad dream, it was a good dream. And it seemed so real. It was amazing!!!” he
said.
     “It was only a dream, Sonic.”

     But then Sonic remembered: in his dream, he had taken a picture of Alex and Sam. And there was
the picture crumpled up in a ball in his hands. He stuck it up on the wall and went back to sleep.
And every night after that, he had the same dream.
