Sonic the Hedgehog and the Space Ace Transformers - Episode IX by Space Ace Part 2 Once inside the Institute Dr Brown took Queen Sally on a guided tour of his workplace, the beginning of the tour led past several display windows showing a variety of inventions and the inventors who created them back in the 19th and 20th Centuries such as Thomas Edison and the light bulb, Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone, Henry Ford and the first Model-T automobile, and so forth. SALLY: Goodness, I never knew these great inventors built these ideas. EMMETT: Yes, they did. Unfortunately many are long gone, passed away now, but their ideas still live on today. SALLY: I see...anything else to show me? Dr Brown led the queen, his son and secretary wife into a large work area where scientists were busy building contraptions of sorts. Some greeted Emmett, others ignored him while continuing their work in progress. Doc walked over to a device looking something like a stand-up moped with long pole with handlebar-throttle-brake assembly on a platform with wheels beneath. EMMETT: This, my dear is the one-person automated PeopleMover unit. It is the next step in getting anybody or anyone from place to place. SALLY: Oh, my! How does it work? ACE: Simple, first you turn the unit on, like this. The machine powered up with a humming noise as Acorn watched, still excited to witness it in action as I demonstrated for her. ACE: Next, you make the PeopleMover go by gently pushing forward on the handlebar unit, like so... to steer like a bicycle, motorcycle or moped turn the handlebars in the direction and lean slightly into the turn, no need to worry about losing your balance, the machine will not tip over. As I spoke I drove the unit in circles, back and forth movements around the workplace while Sally looked on, mouth open in astonishment. HEATHER: See how easy it is to operate? SALLY: Ah, yes. That looks fun to ride, though. ACE: Now, to go backwards just pull back slightly on the handlebars but make sure you always check behind you when going in reverse so you do not risk running someone down by accident or crashing into obstructions. Now I backed up in the same fashion with Sally again watching in wonder and awe. EMMETT: To make it stop, either use the hand brake grips located under the handlebars and the unit will come to a gradual stop, do not clamp down too hard on the brakes or it will lock up suddenly and throw you headlong onto your face. Or just let go of the handlebars like Junior did, and the unit will stop automatically, the engine shutting off. SALLY: Wow! Can I try it, can I...please? ACE: Certainly, my dear. SALLY: Yay! EMMETT: Just remember what Ace did so you know how to operate it. SALLY: Yes sir! ACE: Very funny, my lady. Leering back, wiggling her eyebrows at me the queen climbed onto the PeopleMover unit, gripped the handlebars with excitement as I turned the key to the ON position, the engine coming online again. ACE: Now, very carefully push forward on the handlebars. SALLY: Like this? What-the...HEY! All of a sudden the unit rolled forwards, catching Acorn totally by surprise as she nearly fell off the device had I not run alongside her, pushing her gently back upright so she could stand again. Again I instructed, coached her to steer and lean into the turn, she did so then to stop, either let go of the handlebars which snapped back upright and the engine shut off by itself. SALLY: I did it! HEATHER: Yes, you did. EMMETT: Congratulations, Sally. SALLY: Wow, I actually rode a PeopleMover unit for the first time, yes! ACE: Aye, for your first trial run that is. Next we proceeded on the tour of the Institute to explore other inventions and so forth. We also experimented with the HD TurboRide Theater that created the illusion of riding movies with motion based simulated chairs on hydraulic pistons that moved in sync with the video on the Wide Flat Screen, the Speaker VideoPhone to see who you're talking with over the phone line, the HoverCam or flying camera that followed wherever you went to create audio-video tours or vacations, etc. Then we went to the Food Court for a lunch break with the other scientists-professors on their break period, happening to come upon Dr Nigel Channing of the Imagination Institute next door who was a friend of Emmett Brown and Heather's twin brother to be exact, making him my uncle. I introduced him to Sally Acorn. NIGEL: It's a pleasure to meet you, Sally. SALLY: Thank you, Dr Channing, I mean...Nigel, oops! NIGEL: He-he, never mind, my queen. So how do you like the Institute? SALLY: I love it, so far. I've seen lots of inventions and even got to experiment with some that will be sold to the public one day. NIGEL: Yes-yes, lots of ideas are already being used in people's homes, workplaces, schools, university campuses, etc. EMMETT: That's right, Channing. How are things coming along at your workplace? NIGEL: So far, as smoothly as clockwork. ACE: That's good to know, uncle. SALLY: By the way, how do you use imagination? Dr Channing went onto explain about how imagination can be used in the different types or ways such as Touch, Smell, Taste, Sound, Sight, Hearing. Acorn listened without interrupting. NIGEL: And that, my dear is how imagination is used once you let it go, that is. SALLY: Uh-huh, we do that on our world also. HEATHER: Excuse me, I got to return to my workstation, lots of calls to take and paperwork, at-tah. SALLY: Huh?! ACE: See you later, mom. HEATHER: Okay, son. Thanks for allowing us to come visit Mobius, to the wedding and birth of your children. SALLY: Uh, sure...it was fun having you, ma'am. See you next time, bye! ACE: Oh, well. Guess she's not coming back. SALLY: Yeah, oh dear. EMMETT: Not to worry, Acorn. We still have our own future here on Earth, jobs to do, bills to pay, the usual stuff. But it was fun visiting your planet and getting to meet your Freedom Fighters and allies. ACE: So, that means you're not coming back either? EMMETT: Sorry, I got to catch up on paperwork too, as the boss of the Institute I have to see to it that inventions keep coming off the assembly line. NIGEL: Not to worry, I'll be happy to return with you to your world instead. SALLY: You will, sir? Okay, um...very well, I'd be honored to accept your invitation to come with me to Mobius to meet the Freedom Fighters. ACE: Good idea, uncle. NIGEL: Fine, just let me know when you're ready and I'll meet you out in the parking lot next to the DeLorean, cherrio! SALLY: Bye! Wow, your uncle's coming back with us? Cool! ACE: You better believe it, lady. EMMETT: Junior, I leave you in charge of my DeLorean time vehicle, take good care of her, make sure she does not get scratched. ACE: Scout honor! SALLY: Duh?! But we laughed together as Dr Brown headed back to his main office, leaving Sally and I on our own before we decided to head back to the time vehicle in the parking lot. Once outside we met Dr Channing and Figment a purple midget sized dragon who popped into view as the four of us climbed into the DMC vehicle, strapped on our belts and after setting coordinates for planet Mobius were on our way, jumping back into hyper-space/light-speed that is en route back to Sally's home world once again. By the time we returned to Castle Acorn and re-entered our residence to be welcomed back by King Elias and Queen Rosemary who asked us about what took place on Earth we were startled by Kimberly, Kim Possible and Goku San who rushed into sight, faces white as flour. GOKU: Ace, Sally! Someone tried to kidnap the twins while you were gone! SALLY: NO! Not the babies?! KIM: Yes, but we fought the kidnappers off, they escaped as the Clone Troopers came in to assist. SALLY: Who, who dared to kidnap our children, huh? KIMBERLY: It was Tai Lung, Tigress, She-Lion and Ninjara who attempted the kidnapping plot. ACE: Good grief! It had to be the nWo, do doubt about it. GOKU: Aye, sire. Like we said, we managed to fight them, prevent them from stealing the babies away. ROSEMARY: Yes, we heard the commotion and came running in time to see those terrorist mutants escaping. ELIAS: They got away before the Clone Guards could stun them with their laser guns. SALLY: Oooooooh, this time Borf's gone too far...YES! ACE: He's going to be sorry he dared harm the Prince and Princess of Mobius, our future Freedom Fighters. ELIAS: I shall have the guards maintain 24/7 watch over the nursery and castle immediately. ROSEMARY: Aye, we'll make sure nothing happens to the twins. Sally and I agreed then followed Possible, Goku and Kimmy into the nursery where Prince Omar and Princess Angel were sleeping peacefully in their cribs, both of us peering down and sighing happily at our babies knowing that they would not be harmed. Goku, Kimberly and Kim also took that time to admire the twins before leaving for Freedom HQ. Dr Channing and Figment came in to see the children. FIGMENT: Wow, look at that. NIGEL: I say, are those your babies? SALLY: Yes, Dr Channing. That's Prince Omar and that's Princess Angel, ACE: One day they will become Freedom Fighter Power Ranger Autobots like their parents. FIGMENT: Cool, to fight and protect the universe. NIGEL: Aye, and bring down the reign of evil of the New World Order Empire Decepticons! TO BE CONTINUED...
